ProtectStar has updated iLocker for Mac to version 1.0.1. The app allows users of shared Macs password protect any app on their computer’s hard drive.

Parents can drag and drop apps or files into the iLocker window, set a password, and their selections are protected from unauthorized access by their offspring. The app also supports the MacBook Pro’s Touch ID sensor.

iLocker for Mac requires macOS 10.11. It’s available for $19.90 at the ProtectStar website (https://www.protectstar.com/en/).

Promise Technology is shipping its newest personal storage device, Apollo Cloud 2 Duo, which is available in Apple stores. With enhanced iOS 11 features and no monthly or yearly fees, it gives Apple users the ability to store important data off the Internet onto a secure personal cloud, with all transactions encrypted.
 

Along with a plethora of other updates, Apple has rolled out Safari 11, an update of its web browser for macOS (Sierra and the upcoming High Sierra). It’s a free update at the Mac App Store. The update:

° Stops media with audio from automatically playing on most websites.

°Adds the ability to configure Reader, content blockers, page zoom, and auto-play settings on a per-website basis, or for all websites.

° Improves AutoFill accuracy from Contacts cards.

° Includes updated media controls for HTML video and audio.

° Enhances performance and efficiency.

Apple has released watchOS 4, featuring a “proactive” Siri watch face, personalized Activity coaching and a new music experience. The update also sports an enhanced Workout app and introduces GymKit, a technology platform that will offer customers connected workouts with cardio equipment.
