Hyperbolic Software has announced Tidy Up 4.1.2, the latest version of the duplicate finder and disk tidying utility for Mac OS X 10.8 or higher.

The utility allows you to reclaim disk space taken up by duplicate files and packages. Tidy Up locates duplicate items using a wide range of criteria including owner application; time created or modified, name, label, extension and content.

St. Clair Software has released Default Folder X 4.7.3, an update to their utility for Mac OS X 10.6 and higher.

Default Folder X enhances the file dialogs in all Mac OS X applications. Its custom keyboard shortcuts put your favorite and recent folders at your fingertips. It provides fast navigation to your files, previews, integrated Spotlight tagging, and more. Version 4.7.3 brings compatibility fixes and supports OS X El Capitan if System Integrity Protection is turned off.

Default Folder X 4.7.3 is a free update for existing version 4 users. It costs US$34.95 for new users.

Apple has issued MacBook Pro Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.0 (http://tinyurl.com/nzovdaa) for mid-2015 models.

It addresses a storage firmware issue that, in rare cases (according to Apple), may cause data corruption. MacBook Pro Flash Storage Firmware Update is a 1.9MB download.
