Snapz Pro X upgrade improves compatibility with newer MacBooks

Ambrosia Software has updated Snapz Pro X (http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/utilities/snapzprox/), its screen capture software, to version 2.2.3. The upgrade improves compatibility with newer MacBook models.

It also: addresses issues with display mirroring during movie capture and improvers movie capturing to a disk with little free space. There are other bug fixes, as well.

Snapz Pro X allows you to effortlessly record anything on your screen, saving it as a QuickTime movie or screenshot that can be e-mailed, put up on the web, or passed around however you want.

Intel says light beams can replace electronic signals for future computers

Intel (http://www.intel.com) has announced an advance in the quest to use light beams to replace the use of electrons to carry data in and around computers. The company has developed a research prototype representing the world’s first silicon-based optical data connection with integrated lasers.

The link can move data over longer distances and many times faster than today’s copper technology; up to 50GB of data per second. This is the equivalent of an entire HD movie being transmitted each second.
