Microsoft’s Macintosh Business Unit (http://www.microsoft.com/mac) will ship Office for Mac 2011 in late October. Reportedly, the prices will undercut the current version of the office application suite by 20% to 50%.

Microsoft Office 2011 will come in two editions: the Mac Home and Student version and a Mac Home and Business offering. The former includes the Word word-processing. The price will be US$119 for a single license and $149 for a family pack that allows for installs on three Macs.

IT security and data protection firm Sophos has announced a new addition to its Sophos data protection family, Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac, which protects against data breaches of confidential and private information on MacBooks and Macs.

iWebTemplate (http://www.iwebtemplate.com) has added five new iWeb templates to be used with Apple’s web site building application, iWeb.

iWeb Themes for Business 7.0, developed by iPresentee, includes five new themes available in standard and flash edition: Clock, Golden, Relax, Architecture and Business World. The new release extends iWebTemplate’s iWeb themes collection up to 134. i
