HOB debuts Mac-specific remote access solution

HOB (http://www.hobsoft.com) has launched a new secure remote access solution designed specifically for Mac users. The HOB MacGate provides users with access to computers running Mac, especially graphics workstations, on a corporate network either through a LAN or over the Internet.

In addition, access to Mac computers is possible from any client platform including Windows, Linux or even from another Mac workstation. Available now, the HOB MacGate is powered by the company’s HOB Remote Desktop VPN.

Dropbox powered text editor for iPhone, iPad available

Second Gear Software has released Elements 1.0 (http://www.secondgearsoftware.com/elements/), a new text editor for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It allows you to view, edit and share plain text documents on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

All of your data is stored on your personal Dropbox account so that its accessible from any device you have. Elements is available for an introductory price of $4.99.

It requires an iPad running iOS 3.2 or an iPhone/iPod touch running iOS 4. A free Dropbox account is also required. Elements can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
