Iomega offers eGo drives with USB 3.0

Iomega (http://www.iomega.com) is moving to the new USB 3.0 interface for all Iomega USB 2.0 portable hard drives, beginning with the line of Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drives. And they’ll sell at the same prices as their USB 2.0 versions, says Iomega.

Iomega plans to move all eGo Portable Hard Drives in 500GB and 1TB capacities to the new USB 3.0 interface by early October. They’ll be compatible with all USB 2.0 computers, which is good since Apple is dragging its feet in implementing USB 3.0.

JVC announces new pocket cameras

JVC (http://www.jvc.com) has announced two new pocket cameras for making and sharing videos and photos: the US$199.95 PICSIO pocket cameras, models GC-WP10 (US$199.95) and GC-FM2.

Both feature Full HD video, low-light performance, a three-inch touch screen and compatibility with Eye-Fi cards for Wi-Fi connectivity. And the PICSIO GC-WP10 is waterproof.

Bango: web browsing from Androids grow 400% at the iPhone’s expense

According to new statistics released by Bango (http://news.bango.com), a mobile analytics and payment specialist, the volume of mobile web browsing from Android phones in the U.S. grew by 400% between quarter one and quarter two of 2010. In comparison the volume of growth from Apple devices was just 13% over the same period, representing an actual percentage market share decline of 16%.

Former Apple manager to join Next Jump
