Manila released in beta today for Mac OS X

Our good friends at UserLand software let us know that they have released a beta version of Manila, their scalable Web content management system, for Mac OS X. Additionally supported in this release is SOAP, XML-RPC, and RSS to the Mac platform. “Manila puts the capabilities of content management systems costing hundreds of thousands of dollars into a sub-$1000 package,” said Dave Winer, CEO of UserLand Software in a press announcement.

More details emerge on Apple expo Paris

We mentioned the dates confirmed for the Apple expo in Paris yesterday (September 26-30 at the Porte de Versailles), but further details have now emerged. Macworld UK reports that Apple’s booth will occupy nearly one-ninth of the 18,000 square-metre show. In addition, show organizers have said that this year’s event will be more multi-lingual — this in response to critics who said the show relied too heavily on the French language last year.

Internet World Berlin a hit

MacWelt reports that in spite of the dot com crisis felt around the world, things were looking good at this year’s Internet World show in Berlin. The event, which is touted as being Europe’s largest Internet trade show, received about 74,000 visitors and ran from May 15-17. Dr. Bott to ship XRouter Aero this month

Dr. Bott has announced in a press release that XRouter Aero, their wireless connectivity device for SOHO users, is shipping this month. The XRouter Aero will allow up to 253 wired or wireless users to share Internet access from one modem. The unit supports any 802.11b (AirPort) compliant wireless card or device and will retail for US$299.

UK Mac Show: New name, high hopes

MacExpo2001 Mac fans were disappointed when Apple chose not to be involved with The Expo 2000 (a UK Mac show), but with new backers and a new name, organizers are trying to woo Apple into exhibiting. MacExpo2001 is scheduled for Thursday November 22 through 24 at The Business Design Centre in Islington, England.
