LaCie Silverlining Pro updated to version 6.4.2

LaCie has updated their hard disk utility Silverlining Pro to version 6.4.2, replacing versions 6.0, 6.1, 6.2.1, 6.3, 6.3.1, 6.3.2, 6.4 and 6.4.1, according to the Web site. Changes in this release include name changes in the USB/FireWire drivers, a new FireWire/USB bridge firmware update, improved FireWire hard disk drive error recovery, and various other improvements. A number of different updaters are available for Silverlining Pro 6.4.2.

Palm.net suffers activation trouble

Palm users signing up for the company’s wireless service were unable to activate their accounts, reports News.com. Palm would offer no details about when it began, what caused it or when it will be fixed. “We are aware of the problem and are working with suppliers to resolve the issue,” spokeswoman Julia Rodriguez said.
