LCD prices to rise

Apple announced a few days ago that they would be moving their line of monitors entirely to LCD. A report in The Register says prices for large-size LCDs will stop falling this year and then rise next year, which could have an affect on monitor prices. Windows PCs Require Fans, So Apple Is Best Bet for Quiet

In his latest column, Walter Mossberg discusses the noise — or in this case, lack thereof — of PCs. “Apple’s iMac and G4 Cube were specifically designed without a fan and are much quieter than any Windows machine I’ve used,” says Mossberg in the article. “…I’d strongly suggest you buy one of these Macs, even though you might have to replace some of your peripheral hardware.”
