LiveStage Professional 3 released with extensive QuickTime 5 support

Totally Hip Software today released LiveStage Professional 3, a new version of its interactive QuickTime authoring environment. The new version adds full support for the new features and functionality found in Apple’s QuickTime 5, allowing users to create interactive QuickTime movies and video for the Web, CD, and DVD. The software also provides close integration with Macromedia Flash and Adobe LiveMotion. Among the new features are support for QuickTime 5’s media skins, Flash 4 support, XML support, seventy wired actions, and more.

Wall Street Journal also awards high marks to iBook

The Wall Street Journal joins two other major US news publications in praising Apple’s iBook today. Walt Mossberg compares the iBook to a US$1,799 Toshiba Satellite, concluding that “for all that extra size and weight, the Toshiba has almost nothing on the iBook except a larger screen — 14.1 inches vs. 12.1 inches on the iBook. Even then, the iBook actually displays more text on the screen because of its higher video resolution.” (Subscription required)
