FileMaker DevCon slated for August

FileMaker Developer Conference 2001 will take place August 12-15 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Florida. The conference is expected to draw 1,500 FileMaker developers and feature 50 expert sessions, as well as a special “Revolutions of 2001” keynote from PC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Michael Miller. Apple names WWDC Design winners

Apple has announced the winners of the WWDC Apple Design Awards, as noted by Macworld UK earlier this morning. OnmiWeb 4.0 took home top honors as the Best New Mac OS X Product, as well as the Best Mac OS X User Experience. Tenon’s Xtools won for Most innovative Mac OS X product, and was the runner up for Best New Mac OS X product. Finally, AutoCompleter 1.0 won the Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption award.

Apple launches interest-free iMac promotion

Apple today kicked off an interest-free iMac promotion that allows customers to purchase an iMac with no interest and no down payment for six months. The promotion, which runs through July 8, also offers customers who opt not take advantage of the interest-free period a free Rio 600 MP3 player. Apple launched a similar promotion, minus the MP3 player, in the UK in mid-May.
