The Apple Store is now taking orders for the iDVD 2 software upgrade, and is showing a two-day estimated ship time for the product. The upgrade includes “a DVD disk with all upgrade installers; includes the application with all new motion and audio themes, plus new tutorial sample files (the downloadable version of iDVD 2 does not include the themes or tutorial.).” iDVD 2 requires Mac OS X 10.1. The software was originally expected to ship in September.

Netscape has released Netscape 6.2 for Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X, as noted by VersionTracker. Changes and improvements with this version are not yet known.

Adobe today announced PDF Transit, a software developer kit “that enables print shops to offer an Adobe PDF-based service for customers to submit and manage print jobs.” With PDF transit, a customer can use any application’s Print command to create a print-ready PDF document that is then sent to their printer’s Web server.

The O’Reilly Network has published a guide for using the Tool Command Language and Expect, an extension of TCL, with Mac OS X. TCL is a very flexible scripting language that can be used to test network hardware.
