Hotmail to close accounts after 30 days of inactivity

Microsoft, in an e-mail sent to members of its free Hotmail e-mail service yesterday, has announced that accounts will be closed if they are not used at least once per month. As part of the deactivation, all messages, folders, and contacts are permanently deleted, according to c|net. The inactivity rule does not apply to MSN Hotmail Extra Storage accounts, which cost US$12.95 per year and provide five times more storage space than the free accounts.

Bare Bones releases Super Get Info 1.0.4

Bare Bones Software has posted Super Get Info 1.0.4, a new version of its replacement utility for the Show Info command in Mac OS X. Version 1.0.4 adds a number of new features, including a keyboard shortcut for invoking the utility from within the Finder. Additional new features include the ability to change type and creator codes with drag and drop as well as assorted bug fixes and interface refinements. Super Get Info costs US$20.00.
