Palm captured 29.7 percent of the worldwide PDA market last quarter, while Handspring grabbed 14 percent, according to Gartner Dataquest. PocketPC devices, meanwhile, accounted for 18 percent of sales, down sharply from 30 percent during the previous quarter. The article rightly points out, however, that Mac users shouldn’t count on seeing such high speeds in systems any time soon. The Register has previously speculated that Power Mac G5 systems could arrive at Macworld Expo in January with speeds of up to 1.6GHz.
