VueScan 7.2.2 adds automatic sizing, cropping

Hamrick Software has released VueScan 7.2.2, a new version of its alternative driver for a number of flatbed scanners on both OS 8/9 and Mac OS X, as noted by VersionTracker. The new version adds support for automatic image sizing and cropping with flatbed scanners, improved automatic cropping, support for the SprintScan 120 and Epson 2450, and additional bug fixes. Apple faces racial discrimination suit

A former Apple employee, who worked as a Product Design Engineer for the company since November 1998, has filed a racial discrimination suit against Apple alleging wrongful suspension and termination as well as denial of promotions and stock options, as noted by MacNN. The lawsuit, filed on October 30, 2001 on behalf of the African-American plaintiff, alleges that the plaintiff’s work performance was above average and seeks general damages of US$40 million.

Hitachi unveils new 15-inch flat-panel LCD

Hitachi has introduced the CML153, a 15-inch flat-panel LCD display that features a 1024×768 native resolution, VGA connector, integrated speakers, headphone jack and volume control, and support for wall-mounting with third-party mounting arms. The CML153 LCD display carries a 3-year warranty and will be available later this month for US$399.
