Bob “Dr. Mac” LeVitus is currently working on his new book, Dr. Mac: The OS X Files, a reference for mastering Mac OS X. Scheduled to be published early next year, LeVitus is currently soliciting Mac OS X tips and tricks from users. Readers who submit tips that are selected for publishing will be mentioned alongside the tip in the book and will also receive an autographed copy of the finished work. Tips must be received by November 26 to be eligible.

Canon today introduced a new high-end multimedia projector, the LV-7545, which it says is its brightest ever. The LV-7545 features a 1024×768 resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio, and Canon’s Turbo Bright technology, which boosts brightness from 3200 ANSI lumens to 3700 ANSI lumens at the flip of a switch. Pricing starts at US$8,499.

Wired has published an overview of Office v.X, which calls the software “high art” and touches upon some of the features that the new version incorporates. Office v.X is slated to ship November 19.

French-based Mac site MacPlus has posted an audio interview with Kevin Browne, head of Microsoft’s Mac Business Unit. The interview, which is in English, discusses Office v.X and compares it to Office XP.

MacSoft has announced that its highly anticipated 3D role-playing game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, has reached golden master status and has been sent off for duplication and packaging; the game is expected to hit store shelves later this month, according to Inside Mac Games.
