Future iOS devices may sport more glass

An Apple patent (number 20120069517) shows that future iOS devices may sport more glass components. The patent is for a handheld computing device that includes an enclosure having structural walls formed from a glass material that can be radio-transparent.

The enclosure can be formed from a hollow glass tube or two glass members bonded together. A laser frit bonding process may be used to hermetically seal the two glass members together to create a water resistant electronic device.

Apple granted patents for the iPad Smart Cover

Apple has been granted several patents pertaining to the Smart Cover for the iPad.

Patent number 20120066865 is for a foldable accessory device. A magnetic attachment mechanism and method is described. The magnetic attachment mechanism can be used to releasably attach at least two objects together in a preferred configuration without fasteners and without external intervention. The magnetic attachment mechanism can be used to releasably attach an accessory device to an electronic device.

Customers not happy with Internet service, TV service experience

An iBriefcase, perhaps?

Remember the briefcase? Sure you do. Since many folks — including my buddy, J. Scott Anderson, who came up with the idea for today’s topic — do their work with an iMac/iPad/iPhone combination, I’ve been wondering what type of carrying accessory would be more appropriate than the old briefcase.
