Apple says that Apple Park, the company’s new 175-acre campus, will be ready for employees to begin occupying in April. The process of moving more than 12,000 people will take over six months, and construction of the buildings and parklands is scheduled to continue through the summer.

Smart one automation, monitoring devices to excel 770 million by 2021

A new study from Juniper Research (www.juniperresearch.com) forecasts that smart home automation and monitoring devices will grow to over 770 million globally by 2021, representing an eleven-fold rise from just 68 million estimated in 2016.

The new research found that increasing adoption of platform evangelism and openness to partnerships is boosting third party development of devices, especially in developed markets. North America, Far East & China and West Europe will account for almost 75% of all households adopting the technology in 2021.

Smart glasses predicted to resurge over the next five years

A new study from Juniper Research (www.juniperresearch.com) has identified smart glasses as the highest growth sector of the consumer wearables segment over the next five years, reaching 11% of the overall wearables market by 2021. Revenues are forecast to grow from $327m this year, to $9bn in 2021 as the new generation of smart glasses emerges.

The new research also found that the dominant wearables categories of smartwatches and fitness wearables, have begun to slow. They will claim just over 50% of wearables revenue by 2021, compared to an expected 75% this year, according to Juniper.

Apple releases Logic Pro X 10.3.1

Apple has updated Logic Pro X — its macOS software for professional songwriting, editing, and mixing — to version 10.3.1. According to Apple, the upgrade:

° Addresses issues that could cause regions to behave unexpectedly while moving them;

° Resolves an issue where regions on inactive Track Alternatives could get deleted;

° Global edits that cut or insert time are now also applied to inactive Track Alternatives;

° Projects using sample rates other than 44.1kHz can now be shared to GarageBand for iOS.
