PDF Checkpoint can now preflight PDF document font names

Zevrix Solutions has introduced PDF Checkpoint 1.7.19, a feature update to its PDF preflight and conversion solution.

The tool automatically preflights, exports as images, splits and optimizes multiple Adobe PDF files. PDF Checkpoint can also convert the PDF document colors to specific ICC profile and helps users easily prepare their files for print, web and mobile devices. Version 1.7.19 lets users check PDF files for specific font names and adds case-insensitive keyword search.

AKVIS releases macOS compatible Points 3.0

AKVIS (www.akvis.com) has released AKVIS Points 3.0., an update of the macOS-compatible software that turns digital photographs into paintings using the technique of pointillism. Americans remain unconcerned about identity theft this tax season

In its second annual Tax Season Risk Report, CyberScout (www.cyberscout.com), a data security and identity theft protection firm, reported on taxpayer attitudes about identity theft and saw a pattern of poor practices that leave much of the public vulnerable. While the IRS is taking steps that have reduced tax identity theft, taxpayers must still take ownership to protect their filings as the risks remain high.

Worldwide cloud services to grow 18% this year

The worldwide public cloud services market is projected to grow 18% in 2017 to total $246.8 billion, up from $209.2 billion in 2016, according to Gartner (www.gartner.com).

The research group says the highest growth will come from cloud system infrastructure services (IaaS), which is projected to grow 36.8% in 2017 to reach $34.6 billion. Cloud application services (SaaS) is expected to grow 20.1% to reach $46.3 billion.
