Apple announces ‘effortless solution’ bringing health records to iPhone

Apple has introduced what it says is a “significant update” to the Health app with the iOS 11.3 beta, debuting a feature for customers to see their medical records right on their iPhone.

The updated Health Records section within the Health app brings together hospitals, clinics and the existing Health app to make it easy for consumers to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose. Johns Hopkins Medicine, Cedars-Sinai, Penn Medicine and other participating hospitals and clinics are among the first to make this beta feature available to their patients.

Apple previews iOS 11.3

Apple says that iOS 11.3 will arrive this spring with “exciting new ways to experience augmented reality on iPhone and iPad, new Animoji on iPhone X and the ability to view health records in the Health app.

Along with iOS 11.3, the tech giant has rolled out ARKit 1.5 to developers to provide even more immersive AR experiences. In addition to horizontal surfaces like tables and chairs, ARKit can now recognize and place virtual objects on vertical surfaces like walls and doors, and can more accurately map irregularly shaped surfaces like circular tables.

Apple has released iTunes 12.7.3 for macOS with support for the upcoming HomePod.

You can use the improved AirPlay menu to choose the wireless speaker and control what plays next with your Apple Music subscription. iTunes 12.7.3 is available on the Mac App Store, as well as via the Apple Software update on Windows.
