QuickerTek announces 12TB hard drive storage upgrade for Apple’s Time Capsule

QuickerTek has announced new 5TB and 12TB hard drive upgrades (https://tinyurl.com/y8omjyrz) for the Apple AC AirPort Time Capsule — which provides only 2TB to 3TB of storage alone. By request, 6 9dBi high performance antennas can also be added to the unit for a boost in wireless power, effectively a three-fold increase in the range of the Time Capsule.

To complete this upgrade, QuickerTek first opens the chassis and removes the existing hard drive. Once this is done, either the 5TB or 12TB hard drive is slid into the empty space and plugged into the internal board.

Swift Playgrounds revved to version 2.0

Apple has updated Swift Playgrounds, a free iPad app (available at the Apple App Store) to teach kids of any age basic coding skills in Swift, to version 2.0. Now you can subscribe to playgrounds from your favorite third party creators, then browse and download their content directly within Swift Playgrounds. Other changes include:

° Subscriptions automatically show new playgrounds when available and alert you to updates.

° New robots including IBM’s TJBot and Mekamon are available from the Add Subscriptions button.

Rogue Amoeba announces Farrago sound app for the Mac

Rogue Amoeba has announced Farrago, a new soundboard app for the Mac. It allows performers to quickly play sound bites, audio effects, and music clips.

The folks at Rogue Amoeba say that fast triggering via keyboard or mouse is coupled with robust playback options including fades, adjustable in/out points, and more. Audio management is handed via the tile-based interface. The tile layout can be adjusted thanks to the “limitless number of sets allow grouping in any way imaginable.”
