iOS 27: All the Rumors About Apple's Next Big iPhone Software Update It's only been two months since iOS 26 launched, but rumors don't take breaks. We're already hearing details about the next-generation iOS 27 update, which Apple will introduce in June 2026 before launching it in September 2026.
We've rounded up all of the rumors that we've heard so far.
Foldable Features
In 2026, Apple plans to launch the first foldable iPhone, a device that could be called the iPhone Fold. Rumors suggest that it will feature a 5.5-inch display when folded, and a 7.8-inch display when it's opened up like a book.
An iPhone with a larger display that also folds will require some major updates to iOS, and iOS 27 will focus on building new interfaces and experiences made for a larger display.
We haven't heard specifics on how Apple will tweak iOS to accommodate the iPhone Fold, but we could see some iPad-like options such as side bars and perhaps even multitasking views with support for multiple windows.
Bug Fixes
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has described iOS 27 as a "Snow Leopard" update, suggesting that Apple will focus on improving underlying performance and quality rather than introducing major new functionality. Apple engineers are reportedly going through iOS 26 to look for bloat, bugs, and any other issues impacting performance.
Liquid Glass
iOS 27 might include refinements for the Liquid Glass design that Apple introduced with iOS 26. There have already been some changes in the iOS 26.1 and iOS 26.2 updates, but iOS 27 will provide Apple with the opportunity to make larger adjustments.
Apple Intelligence
We're supposed to get the much smarter version of Siri in an iOS 26.4 update planned for spring 2026, but it's likely even more Apple Intelligence capabilities will follow in iOS 27.
We don't know specifics yet, but Apple Intelligence features could expand to additional apps.
Apple is working on a "World Knowledge" Siri search feature that would provide information on general search queries, which will likely be included in Siri's iOS 26.4 update. If it's not in iOS 26.4, the add-on Siri feature could instead come in iOS 27.
Siri
With iOS 27, Apple could update Siri's design. Siri will get its major overhaul in iOS 26.4, but a new visual look is supposedly planned for iOS 27. There are no specifics about what the redesign might entail, but rumors linked to Apple's upcoming tabletop robot suggest that the company might introduce a version of Siri that's more animated, similar to the Mac Finder logo. That more animated version of Siri could also come to the iPhone and iPad.
Health+
Apple is rumored to be developing a paid Health+ service with nutrition planning and medical suggestions, and we could see that introduced as part of iOS 27.
The medical tool would explain different health metrics and trends from the Health app, offering up personalized guidance for health improvement.
New Satellite Features
Apple is working on several new satellite features for the iPhone, and it's possible some features could be introduced as soon as 2027. Timing on Apple's satellite improvements is unclear, though, and behind-the-scenes updates from Apple's satellite partner Globalstar are required.
Rumored features:
Apple Maps via satellite
Photos in Messages via satellite
Satellite API framework for third-party apps
Satellite over 5G
Satellite connectivity without the need for a view of the sky
Some of these features might require new hardware, but options like Apple Maps via satellite would not require components beyond what's available now.
Launch Date
New versions of iOS, macOS, and Apple's other software platforms will be previewed in June at WWDC before launching in September just ahead of when new iPhone models come out. This article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Apple Asks Indian Court to Block Antitrust Law Allowing $38 Billion Fine Apple is fighting an antitrust penalty law in India that could require it to pay massive fines in its ongoing antitrust dispute with Tinder owner Match, reports Reuters.
Last year, India passed a law that allows the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to use global turnover when calculating penalties imposed on companies for abusing market dominance. Apple can be fined up to 10 percent, which would result in a penalty of around $38 billion. Apple said that using global turnover would result in a fine that's "manifestly arbitrary, unconstitutional, grossly disproportionate, and unjust."
Apple is asking India's Delhi High Court to declare the law illegal, suggesting that penalties should be based on the Indian revenue of the specific unit that violates antitrust law.
Apple has been fighting an antitrust lawsuit in India since 2022 against dating app Match and several Indian startups. The CCI released a pair of reports last year suggesting that Apple had engaged in "abusive conduct and practices" because it required developers to use its in-app purchase system. The CCI was forced to recall its investigative reports because they contained confidential information about Apple's business practices, resulting in a delay of several months. No final decision has been made, and a penalty has yet to be levied against Apple. Apple maintains that it has not done anything wrong, and argues that it has a very small share of the smartphone market in India because Android devices are much more popular.
Apple said in today's filing that the CCI used the new penalty law on November 10 in an unrelated case, fining a company for a violation that happened 10 years ago. Apple said it had "no choice but to bring this constitutional challenge now" to avoid having retrospective penalties applied against it, too.
Match has argued that a high fine based on global turnover would discourage companies from repeating antitrust violations. Apple's plea will be heard on December 3.Tags: Apple Antitrust, IndiaThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Perplexity Adds AI-Powered Shopping Feature With PayPal Checkout AI service Perplexity was this week updated with a new personalized shopping experience that's designed to help users rediscover the joy of shopping.
Perplexity offers conversational search that incorporates the user's history and wants when looking for item suggestions. The Perplexity team suggests that the AI is able to understand each shopper's unique needs better than a search algorithm that's optimized for advertiser dollars.
The search engine is able to remember past searches, learning each user's design preferences. Results are displayed in product cards rather than scrollable grids, with the cards featuring spec lists and reviews. Perplexity supports checking out with PayPal directly from the Perplexity interface, though this is currently limited to supported merchants like Fabletics, Adorama, and NewEgg.
OpenAI this week added an AI shopping research feature to ChatGPT, so both ChatGPT and Perplexity now offer similar functionality.
Perplexity's new shopping experience is available for free to all U.S. Perplexity users on the desktop and web, and it will be expanding to iOS in the coming weeks.
PayPal is currently offering a cash back reward. Customers who complete their first purchase using PayPal within Perplexity can receive 50 percent back, up to $50.Tag: PerplexityThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

India's $38B antitrust threat puts Apple's in-app payment control at risk Apple may be forced to pay $38 billion under India's antitrust laws that allows it to go after a percentage of a company's global revenue. Audio Pro recently updated its entire range of speakers with a new ‘W Generation’ that puts the emphasis on wireless connectivity and streaming. We liked its C10 MKII W, which provides Hi-Fi sound quality in a compact, one-piece design that makes it a good rival for Apple’s HomePod. But, of course, many people still prefer proper stereo speakers, and Audio Pro’s new range does include a number of stereo speakers of different sizes, starting with the new A28 W at $720/£500.
The A28 W is described as a set of ‘bookshelf’ speakers but they’re fairly large, with each speaker standing 238mm high, 150mm wide and 200mm deep. The two speakers just about fit onto my desk, sitting on either side of my trusty 27-inch iMac, but they’ll probably be more at home on a larger bookshelf or on a stand when connected to a TV.
The speaker cabinets are made of MDF, which feels very sturdy and also helps to reduce vibrations that might affect the sound quality. The A28 W is available in black or white, or with a walnut wood finish (although for some reason the walnut finish costs a little more in the UK, at £540).
You can remove the front grilles for a retro look, or leave them on for a cleaner, more minimalist style.Audio Pro
Inside each cabinet you’ll find a 4.5-inch woofer for handling the mid-range and lower frequencies, along with a 1-inch tweeter for the higher frequencies. There are removable fabric grilles provided with each speaker, so you can decide whether you prefer a minimalist look with the grille covering the speaker drivers, or perhaps remove the grille for a more retro look with the drivers exposed.
The A28 W requires mains power, with a power socket on the left-hand speaker, which then uses a single cable to provide power and audio to the right-hand speaker. Each speaker provides 75W output – 150W total – so there’s more than enough power for the A28 W to act as your main music system or to beef up the sound on your TV.
As mentioned, the ‘W’ refers to the speakers’ emphasis on wireless connectivity, and the A28 W provides Bluetooth for a quick and easy connection to your mobile devices, with support for Apple’s AAC codec (although there’s no aptX for Android users). However, the speakers also provide dual-band Wi-Fi for connecting to your home network (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz), with support for AirPlay 2 for Apple devices, along with Google Cast.
Despite that focus on wireless audio, the A28 W provides some useful wired inputs too. The back panel of the left-hand speaker provides stereo RCA inputs and one digital optical input for use with other hi-fi equipment, and an HDMI-ARC interface for a TV. And, for Hi-Fi buffs who like to build their own system, there’s also one more RCA connector that allows you to connect to an external sub-woofer as well.
It’s a shame, though, that such an expensive speaker doesn’t include a standard 3.5mm or USB-C connector for wired audio too. There are no audio cables included either, so you’ll need to provide those for yourself if you want to use a wired connection. However, Audio Pro does include a handheld remote control for controlling playback and switching between different input options. We have more AirPlay speakers in our round up, see Best AirPlay speakers for iPhones and Apple Music.
As well as Bluetooth and wi-fi, the speakrs include a number of wired connections for use with a TV or hi-fi equipment.
Audio Pro
You can also control the various audio settings using the Audio Pro app, which includes a 10-band equaliser for fine-tuning the sound, along with a variety of presets, such as ‘bass booster’ and ‘gaming’. Support for AirPlay means that you can play audio from any apps or streaming services on your Apple devices, but the Audio Pro app also includes direct support for Amazon Music and Spotify, as well as services such as SoundCloud and BBC Radio in the UK.
But, of course, the main selling point for the A28 W is its ability to create an expansive stereo sound that is far more immersive and atmospheric than one-piece speakers such as Apple’s HomePod. It creates an airy cloud of sound when streaming Enya’s Orinoco Flow from Apple Music. Her multi-tracked vocals are silky smooth as they float through the air, and the A28 W is powerful enough to fill the room around me even on just 40% of maximum volume. The A28 W anchors the hazy sound with the weighty bass drum, but is still able to pick out lighter details such as the gentle cymbals and synth keyboards.
The A28 W has no trouble handling a change of mood as I turn the volume up a little and switch to the sinister dance groove of Prime Evil by The Orb. It digs deep for the track’s slinky bass riff, and there’s a nervous jangling energy to the ticking percussion that sounds like someone pulling their hair out. The percussion piles up as the song progresses, but the A28 W keeps the sound clear and precise as it builds into a kind of musical maelstrom that could fill the dance-floor at a house party.
Should You Buy The A28 W?
Some people will prefer the more compact design of one-piece speakers such as the HomePod or Audio Pro’s C10 MKII W. But, if you want the more expansive, spacious sound provided by true stereo speakers then the A28 W is hard to beat. It’s fairly expensive, but the sound quality is excellent, with more than enough power to act as your main music system, or as part of a home cinema set-up. And, of course, its support for AirPlay 2 makes it ideal for use with Apple devices.

This hidden iOS 26 setting lets you turn off Apple Wallet ads Macworld
Perhaps you noticed that over the past several months, Apple has been placing ads throughout its iPhone apps and alerts. It’s most prominent when you visit the App Store, but another place ads have recently appeared is in the Wallet app. The most prominent Wallet ad I can remember was for Apple’s F1 movie this past summer, but other ads have appeared more recently. Generally, I get disgusted by the idea of an ad appearing in my Wallet and close them immediately.
Apple foisting ads on us is a bad look, but the company just did something to sort of remedy the situation. In iOS 26, you now have the option to deactivate ads from appearing in Apple Wallet. Here’s how:
Open Apple Wallet and tap the ellipsis icon (…) at the upper right corner.
In the pop-up menu, tap Notifications.
In the list of settings, look for Offers & Promotions and tap the switch to the off position. There are other notifications here you might want to deactivate, as well.

Those offers also join straight up $200 price drops on the new M5 MacBook Pro lineup as well as this particularly notable $230 discount on the 24GB/512GB model. All of that sits alongside even lower prices across most Apple Watch Series 11 models, and a load big-time official Apple accessory deals starting from just $5. Scope it all out below.

We all have too many cables in the house… until you suddenly need one, and then they all mysteriously morph into the ones you don’t need: why did I even keep a USB-A to USB-A cable??
The Rolling Square inCharge XL might be all you need, and it shouldn’t be easy to lose.
Charge them all
This is a 6-in-1 cable claims to have it all: two inputs (USB-C and USB-A) and three outputs (USB-C, Lightning and MicroUSB), giving you the following charging solutions:
USB-C to USB-C (100W)
USB-C to Lightning (27W)
USB-C to MicroUSB (10W)
USB-A to USB-C (18W)
USB-A to Lightning (18W)
USB-A to Micro USB (10W)
E.U. law and common sense means we should all soon do all our wired connections via USB-C, but while older devices remain on older connection standards such as USB-A and Apple’s Lightning plus the hated but cockroach-like MicroUSB, we must reply on multiple cables or a catch-all such as this.
Rolling Square
The older adapters slide from the USB-C connectors, and are protected when not in use by a protective tied cap. The custom nylon cable itself is braided with reinforced. The 6.6ft and 10ft cables come with a rubber travel pouch and a desk support that is the most likely thing to go missing, unless your colleagues are known cable thieves in which case watch out as they’ll seek out the InCharge XL in numbers.
The clever part is that the Lightning connector also works as the MicroUSB adapter. Remarkably, it stays reversible unlike the ultra-fiddly MicroUSB.0
It can charge to 100W using the base USB-C to USB-C configuration, which is enough to fast-charge all but the 16-inch MacBook Pro. 100W is fine for the 16-inch but you need 140W (PD 3.1) for fast charging that particular model.
This config is also recommended for charging any version 15 or later iPhone or recent iPad, and can fast-charge those models.
Older iPhones and iPads should be charged with USB-C at the charger end and Lightning to the iPhone. At 27W this can fast-charge all those iPhones, too.
If you still own a USB-A wall charger, (1) use the USB-A to Lightning, or (2) dispose of it and buy a USB-C wall charger or (3) suffer slower charging times. USB-A to Lightning will never fast-charge anything, and here is pegged to 18W max.
USB-A to USB-C is an unlikely configuration, but it’s there if you need it. Indeed, the inCharge XL should celebrate its own redundancy when no one needs USB-A, Lightning or MicroUSB ever again. Sadly, unless you have forked out on all new gear, many of have at least a Lightning AirPods case. There are even some MicroUSB LED lights in use in my house, because I haven’t yet found a suitable USB-C solution.
Rolling Square
Data less able
Thunderbolt and some USB-C cables can carry a high charge and speedily transfer data too. The InCharge XL is a charging master to 100W, but has a USB 2.0 data-transfer speed of 480Mbps, which is 92% slower than Gen 1 USB’s 5Gbps and 166 times slower than Thunderbolt 5’s 80Gbps. It will work but make sure you have something to read while it’s doing it.

Price
There are three cable lengths available (1ft/30cm, 6.6ft/2m and 10ft/3m) each in three colors: Urban Black, Glacier White, and Summit Yellow. You can also buy a pocketable version, the 0.5ft (15cm) InCharge XL Pocket, which is aptly named except for the XL part.
InCharge XL 1ft (30cm): $29.99 / £29.99
InCharge XL 6.6ft (2m): $34.90 / £34.90
InCharge XL 10ft (3m): $39.99 / £39.99
InCharge XL Pocket 0.5ft (15cm): $29.99 / £29.99
The pouch and desk support are for the 6.6ft and 10ft cables only.
The inCharge XL Pocket is one for your bag, while the others can replace the snake from your cable drawer.
Should you buy the Rolling Square inCharge XL 6-in-1 charging cable?
The inCharge XL a well-built cable that charges nearly everything as fast as is possible, is simple to use, and easy to keep protected with its tied cap and travel pouch.
Unless you are fortunate enough to own only products that charge via USB-C, having one cable that charges everything is very convenient, and may allow you the pleasure of retiring a bunch of your older cables or at least banishing them to the bottom of a rarely used cupboard.

Apple Set To Become World's Top Phone Maker, Overtaking Samsung Apple will retake its crown as the world's largest smartphone maker for the first time in more than a decade, lifted by the successful debut of a new iPhone series and a rush of consumers upgrading devices, according to Counterpoint Research. From a report: The iPhone 17 models introduced in September have been a hit both domestically in the US and in Apple's other critical market, China. They've enticed more people to upgrade, leading to double-digit year-over-year sales growth in both markets, according to the researchers. The US company also is benefiting from a cooling of US-China trade tensions and a depreciating dollar that has boosted purchases in emerging markets, they added. The growth will propel Apple past longtime rival Samsung this year, according to Counterpoint's figures. Shipments of the iPhone are set to grow at 10% in 2025, compared with 4.6% for Samsung.

Low power Consumption

Cons

Whether it’s the kids’ videos, mum’s holiday photos or dad’s music collection, a family can quickly accumulate large amounts of data. Then there are the backups of all the devices found in a modern home. A Network Attached Storage (NAS) system is usually a better solution than directly connected hard drives or even SSDs because it’s a lot cheaper than renting expensive cloud storage and tidier and more convenient than hosting a stack of external hard drives.
NAS was once primarily the preserve of professionals, but is now increasingly finding its way into private households. This is partly due to the simpler set-up but also to falling prices—as seen in two of the Ugreen DH series of NAS drives: the DH2300 and DH4300 Plus.
From the entry-level $209 two-bay NASync DH2300 to more capacious $429 four-bay NASync DH4300 Plus the NASync DH series offers an extremely attractive price-performance ratio. With just two drives, the DH2300 is designed for home users with lower storage requirements. The somewhat slower processor, only 4GB RAM and 1Gb Ethernet are compromises. This should be bearable for the main home-user target group and it’s also sufficient as a backup server.
Before we describe our practical experiences, however, let’s first take a look at the technical data.
At the top we see the front of the DH4300 Plus, above the picture of the back ports.Thomas Bergbold
Reduced technology
In order to realise this price, Ugreen has made significant technical cuts compared to its higher-spec DXP range: read our Ugreen NASync DXP range review. This starts with the processor: the DH4300 Plus, for example, uses the 2GHz Rockchip RK3588C, an ARM-based eight-core processor. The 8GB of RAM is permanently installed and cannot be expanded. The DH2300 has the less-powerful RK3576 and has just 4G of RAM, but it’s still sufficient for the target home and small office market.
Two bays are available on the DH2300 for 2.5″ or 3.5″ SATA hard drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSDs). Drives with up to 30TB per slot are suitable—so a maximum total capacity of 60TB. For many this should be more than enough for a private collection, but if not look to the four-bay DH4300 Plus that will offer up to 120TB. And if that’s not enough, each model has two USB-A ports and a USB-C port for external drives—but only with a speed of up to 5Gbps. There are no slots for M.2 SSDs as you’ll find in the more pro-level NASync DXP series.
The internal drives can be connected in a RAID for robust backup security. JBOD/Basic, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are supported.
The connection to the network is made via either standard 1Gb Ethernet (DH2300) or a faster 2.5Gb port (DH4300 Plus), and the HDMI 4K/60Hz output typical for Ugreen NAS is also included. This is particularly practical for a low-power NAS for the living room.
Whether the built-in fan is too loud in the living room depends on personal preference— we found it to be pleasantly quiet, even for the 4-bay NAS. In contrast to the HDDs, it was not audible in the living room, especially in quiet fan mode.
Ugreen specifies a power consumption of 7W in idle mode, 22-30W in normal operation and up to 40W with full AI activity. We measured 26W during data transfer and 18.8W in idle mode with four 4TB Seagate Ironwolf drives. When all drives are in idle mode, the measuring device even shows a fantastic 6.8W.
Simon Jary
Home help
With its special design with the drive bays from above and the associated small footprint: even the 6.1 x 6.1 x 8.5 inches (15.5 × 15.5 × 21.6cm) NASync DH4300 Plus cuts a compact figure and won’t dominate your living room. The DH2300 is, as you’d expect, even smaller at 5.9 x 3.9 x 8.4 inches (15.1 x 9.8 x 21.4cm).
Both are good looking, with the top-loading drive bays hidden below a discreet lid unlike the more industrial NASync DXP series that show off their bays as a badge of honor. That said, a version in a white (or even other colors) case might have been more sympathetic to some home decors rather than than the bachelor-pad gunmetal gray.
Simon Jary
The drives are still mounted in the drive frame in the old-fashioned way using screws (included); however, the rubber buffers make a very modern impression.
Setup is carried out with a well-designed wizard and is completed in just a few minutes. If desired, the link for access from the Internet can also be set up directly. This makes the NASsync DH4300 Plus accessible from anywhere and turns it into a private cloud.
Performance tests
For the practical test, we configured the installed drives in various RAID modes and measured the transfer rates in the network with Helios LAN Test.
Over a Gigabit Ethernet network, the Nasync DH4300 Plus achieved 92MBps write and 99MBps read in RAID 1. In RAID 0 the values were 94MBps (write) and 102MBps (read), in RAID 5 92MBps and 103MBps respectively. These are solid results, typical for the bandwidth of the older 1Gbit standard.
The 2.5Gb Ethernet connection delivers significantly higher speeds: Here we measured 136MBps for writing and 206MBps for reading in RAID 1. In RAID 0, the NAS achieves 150MBps (write) and 228MBps (read), in RAID 5 140MBps and 220MBps.
The fact that the CPU is only loaded with around 14-21% is a good sign. A few requirements must be met in order to achieve full performance in the network.
The DH2300 features a gigabit (1Gb) Ethernet port, which will match most home networks. The DH4300 Plus is graced with faster 2.5Gb Ethernet. You’ll only gain the speed benefit if your network is faster than 1GbE, but 2.5GbE is backwards compatible with Gigabit Ethernet so will work seamlessly either way. If you buy the DH2300 and later create a faster network, you can buy an adapter to create the speedier Ethernet connection.
If your home needs more Ethernet ports, for the DH4300 Plus a switch that supports the fast 2.5Gb Ethernet is important. Ugreen offers the UM106X for the home office at a price of $69.99 or £49.99. Next, don’t forget the cables. Even if Ugreen includes a proper shielded CAT 6 cable, CAT 7 or CAT 8 cables with a robust fabric sheath are the better choice.
There’s an app for everything
Ugreen offers a variety of helpful apps for its Ugo Pro operating system. The centrepiece is the control panel; this is where users and groups are managed, folders and shares are created and the performance of the fans and automatic switching on and off are controlled.
The Files app is comparable to the Finder and allows you to assign shares for folders. The “Storage” app is used to conveniently create and manage storage pools (RAID modes).
Simon Jary
Multimedia applications—like many other tools—can be conveniently installed via the App Centre. The Photos app, for example, offers AI-supported functions for managing and sharing pictures with friends and family. The Theatre app serves as a central point of contact for films and series and allows you to play your own media either directly via the Ugreen app for iOS or via HDMI output on a TV or monitor. An app for music management and an integrated DLNA server are of course also on board.
Thomas Bergbold
Other apps take care of synchronising data between Mac, iPad or iPhone and cloud storage.
This means that Ugreen now offers a wide range of applications for most tasks for which a NAS system can be used, including suitable apps for Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV. Unfortunately, there is only an app for Android TV and not for other smart TV operating systems.
Ugreen
Is the performance enough?
Ugreen has several four-drive drives available, which means you are spoilt for choice. The Nasync DXP480T is a very compact high-end NAS that only supports M.2 NVMe SSDs and is therefore significantly more expensive. We reviewed the DXP480T earlier.
A direct comparison is more likely between the NASync DH4300 Plus and the NASync DXP4800 Plus, as both share four drive bays and the Ugo Pro operating system.
The comparison shows clear differences in hardware, performance, expandability and target groups. The NASync DXP4800 Plus is significantly more robust and has a considerably more powerful Intel Pentium Gold 8505 (12th Gen, Alder Lake) with 5 cores, 6 threads and up to 4.4GHz. The RAM can be expanded to up to 64GB and there is space for two additional M.2 NVMe SSDs with up to 8TB each.
The two-bay DXP equivalent is the NASync DXP2800, which is similarly more professional than the DH2300. Home users can rest assured that the DH series should be fine for all but the most demanding home media centers.
This makes the DXP4800 Plus and DXP2800 the right choices when hardware virtualization, x86 compatibility, Docker containers and more demanding applications—including Plex with hardware transcoding—are required.
Ugreen also ups the ante when it comes to interfaces: 10Gb Ethernet, faster USB-C and an SD card reader are available. However, this is reflected in a higher power consumption of around 42W in active mode.
Ugreen
Price: initially high but much cheaper than cloud storage
The 2-bay Ugreen DH2300 is competitively priced at $209 / £169.99, and the 4-bay DH4300 Plus at $429.99 / £359.99.
Remember that each drive comes empty—meaning you have to supply the hard drives. It would be an easier starter experience to be able to order the NAs boxes with drives to your desired capacity but Ugreen leaves you alone to separately buy the drives for yourself at this point.
Each 4TB Ironwolf HDD, for example, costs around $100, so factor that into your overall costs. Amazon sells the Ironwolf hard drives in a range of sizes: 4TB ($99); 8TB ($179), 12TB ($249), plus 16TB ($299), 20TB ($419), 24TB ($469) to 28TB ($569) as Ironwolf Pro. See Amazon UK for prices in that country, from £100. Other quiet drives to consider are the WD Red Plus and Toshiba N300.
One of the great things about NAS, however, is that even though the initial cost is higher, you’ll save a lot of money over time. The DH2300 plus two 6TB drives is a one-time purchase cost of around $520 for 12TB of NAS storage. Just one year of 12TB iCloud storage from Apple will cost you over $700 at $60/month. That saving will pay off in months rather than years.
The DH series offer the first truly affordable NAS solution for home users, and is powerful enough even for a small office setup.
Ugreen
Should you buy the Ugreen NASync DH series?
With the NASync DH range for home users or small office setups, Ugreen shows that targeted savings can even make sense in a private environment. The energy-saving ARM processor and the simpler hardware design are practical decisions that hardly have any disadvantages in the home.
On the other hand, the manufacturer has not changed the central strengths: the simple drive installation, the fast interfaces and the uncomplicated operation. The user interface is reminiscent of other NAS systems, but is deliberately designed to be clearer in many places. The setup wizard and various integrated help functions also help here.
Due to the ARM architecture, the software selection is somewhat limited, so you are primarily dependent on the apps from Ugreen. However, this is not a disadvantage for home use: from the private cloud to the media server to photo management with iPhone backup and AI support, the system offers everything that really counts in everyday life—and in a significantly improved form compared to our beta test of the NASync DXP480T.
The theater app transforms the NAS into a versatile media player on the TV thanks to the HDMI connection, while support for Home Assistant offers more smart home functions than Apple’s HomeKit—and still remains compatible.
With the NASync DH2800 and DH4300 Plus, Ugreen has succeeded in creating a convincing entry-level NAS without any major weaknesses, which we can particularly recommend for use in a private environment.

Apple’s storage upgrades are notoriously expensive, so it’s always best to just get a portable SSD. Especially when it’s super-fast and on sale: Amazon is selling this 1TB OWC Express 1M2, one of our absolute favorites, for just $180 for Black Friday, a tidy 20 percent discount and matching its all-time low.
We gave the OWC Express 1M2 SSD a 5-star rating in our review, along with our Editors’ Choice award. We loved the super-high data transfer rates, the high-quality housing, and its whisper-quiet operation. Even though it doesn’t have a fan, it does just fine at keeping the temps down. This drive can reach data transfer rates of around 3,000 MBps, and even comes with a 40Gb/s USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 cable so you can plug it into your MacBook straight out of the box.
So forget Apple’s high prices and grab one of the fastest SSDs and expand your storage options with 1TB for just $180.

Updated 26 November 2025: We have reviewed the best prices and found some of the best price drops we’ve seen, all of which are included below. We will be regularly monitoring the best prices and will update this article throughout the day.
‘Tis the season for savings! Whether you’re looking for a deal on an iPad, Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, or anything else Apple sells, there’s no better time to get one for cheap than Black Friday week. The annual shopping extravaganza officially kicks off on Friday, but you’ll find huge savings all week long all the way through Cyber Monday, December 1.
Every retailer that sells Apple stuff gets in on the fun, and we’ll be rounding up only the best deals we find right here. We are regularly checking prices using our various tools that help us get a view on the very best prices right now in comparison to what they were over the past days, weeks and months, so we know what is a really good deal.
We’ll also be updating everything regularly, so mark this page and return often so you can’t miss a good deal, some of which are short-lived.
Even Apple runs its own Black Friday shopping event, where it offers gift cards on certain purchases. Their ‘sale’ begins Friday and you can get gift cards when you buy a variety of products, including $50 for AirPods Pro 3, $100 for iPad Air, and $250 with a MacBook Pro.
The bottom line is that there are lots of deals to be found over the four days, so no matter what Apple device you’re looking for, you will be able to make a saving. So take a look at the deals on all of Apple’s products below. Also, check our Best Picks round-ups, where you can find reviews of all the products we recommend.
How we pick the best Apple deals
We’ve been covering and reviewing Apple and Apple devices for more than 45 years, from the original Macintosh to the most recent M5 MacBook Pro and iPhone 17 lineup. We use Apple products every day and purchase them with our own money, so we know a good deal when we see one.
More importantly, we also know how to spot a bad deal. With a working knowledge of everything Apple sells and decades of experience, we know when stores are inflating prices or pushing “normal” sales as limited Black Friday deals, so the listings you see here will only be for discounts that are at or near all-time low prices.
Black Friday MacBook Air and MacBook Pro deals
Apple released the new M5 MacBook Pro in October, but still sells M4 Pro and M4 Max models as well as the M4 MacBook Air. The new M5 model is mostly a chip refresh, but it’s a great one, as we wrote in our 4.5-star review and right now you can get $200 off all the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro at Amazon, taking it to the lowest price we have seen.
However, even though the new model brings a major boost in GPU and SSD performance, we also loved the M4 model, and you can get an amazing $300 off the M4 MacBook Pro at Amazon.
There are also some excellent deals on the even more powerful MacBook Pro M4 Pro and M4 Max, which are full on workstations now at amazingly low prices, such as $300 off the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro at Amazon, and a whopping $500 off the 16-inch M4 Max MacBook Pro, also at Amazon.
And, of course, the MacBook Air is a fantastic option for just about anyone, earning an extremely rare 5-star score in our testing. You can get $250 off the MacBook Air at Amazon.
U.K. shoppers don’t miss out either, with £184 off a 13-inch MacBook Air at Amazon. £200 off the M5 MacBook Pro at KRCS, and £349 off the M4 Pro MacBook Pro at Amazon.

Black Friday iMac and Mac mini deals
The iMac and Mac mini received an M4 update in October 2024, with the Mac mini also getting a dramatic redesign that shrunk the case down to just 5 inches. We loved the new Mac mini design and M4 chip and there is $120 off at Amazon, plus the M4 Pro chip version is a great low-cost way to get a really powerful Mac with $200 off, so jump at any savings here. We don’t know if they will be getting M5 chips, but if they are, they won’t arrive until 2026, so we recommend picking up one of these deals if you’re looking for a Mac desktop.
U.K. users should take advantage of £100 off the Mac mini, and £130 off the Mac mini pro.

Black Friday AirPods deals
Apple released the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025, with a slightly new design, foam-infused eartips, and a heart-rate sensor. We gave them a near-perfect score in our review, but also noted that it’s a relatively small upgrade over the AirPods Pro 2, which has the same H2 chip and many similar features.
The new model has the same $249 MSRP in the U.S. and a slightly lower £219 RRP in the U.K. (AirPods Pro 2 were £229), so keep that in mind when shopping. We don’t expect to see AirPods Pro 3 for more than $30-$50 off, but the older AirPods Pro 2 have dipped as low as $139 at Walmart. That’s a hard deal to pass up.
The AirPods 4 have been out for over a year, but are still a fantastic pair of earbuds. The Black Friday deals of $69 for AirPods 4 and $100 AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation are simply mind-blowing. If you need a pair, grab one, just beware that those deals can sell out quickly, but do keep checking because stock seems to come and go.

Black Friday Apple Watch deals
Mike Sawh
Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 11 in September, but there aren’t many exclusive new features beyond better battery life and 5G networking. The two new health features, hypertension alerts and Sleep Score, are also available on the Series 10, and there isn’t a new color this year. As we noted in our review, we don’t think Series 9 or 10 users need to upgrade. We are seeing savings of $60 on the Series 11, which is a great price for such a full-featured watch, but with $150 off the Series 10 you might want to consider that, you won’t miss out on much (See our comparison of every Apple Watch).
The sleeper hit of the new Apple Watch lineup is the SE 3, which got the biggest update of all three models, gaining an always-on display, temperature sensor, a faster chip, on-device Siri, and fast charging. We gave it a near-perfect score of 4.5 stars and highly recommend it at full price—for $50 off, it’s a no-brainer decision.
At the high end, the Ultra 3 has a slightly larger screen, satellite connectivity, and longer battery life compared to last year’s model. We’re looking for at least $50 off, but if you want one, we’d recommend this $599 deal on the Ultra 2 instead.

In the U.K. the deals are small on the newest Apple Watch models, but we anticipate that they will improve once Black Friday is here. And if they don’t our advice would be to snap up Apple’s offer, which will get you a £40 gift card.
The biggest deals on offer right now are on the older models. We’d recommend Argos’s £200 off the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Curry’s £130 off the Apple Watch Series 10. Just keep in mind that in the U.K., Apple cut the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 prices by £30 and £50 compared to the previous generation when they were introduced. Keep this in mind when shopping, because some stores might make savings appear to be larger than they actually are.

Black Friday iPad deals
Apple updated the iPad Air with an M3 chip and the iPad Pro with an M5 chip this year. Neither update brings any huge reason to upgrade, but they’re both excellent tablets. It comes down to preference and budget—if you’re largely using your tablet for consumption (streaming, surfing, games), get an Air, for which we are seeing prices cut by $150, but if you have real work to do on it, get the Pro: you can get $100 off the M5 iPad Pro in the U.S. which is a great deal on such a new device.
The mini hasn’t had a meaningful update in a couple of generations. But as we noted in our review, it’s still the best tablet for its size and a great option for anyone who values ultra portability over screen size. There’s a decent $100 off.
Finally, the standard entry-level iPad is the bare-bones option in Apple’s lineup, but it still has a great screen, a capable processor, and great battery life. It’s great for kids and an absolute steal at its Black Friday price of $279.

We’re seeing a great £100 saving on the iPad Air, but the deals on the other iPads in the U.K. aren’t as big as they are in the U.S. The M5 iPad Pro only has a small saving, so right now we are looking at the older models to get a better discount. With that in mind, we’d recommend the M4 iPad Pro if you can find one (it’s £206 off at Amazon, but selling out fast).

Black Friday iPhone deals
David Price / Foundry
Most iPhone deals in the U.S. are through carriers and require a trade-in or adding a new line. Carriers will likely have enticing deals with trade-ins as well, but be wary of long-term contracts and terms. One opportunity worth considering is Apple’s Black Friday deal: You can buy an iPhone from Apple and get a gift voucher:
Apple, $75 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
Apple, $50 gift voucher with iPhone 16e
In the U.K. there are less limitations on the sale of iPhones so you will be able to pick one up unlocked at a discount if you would prefer to buy an iPhone up front, rather than on a contract.
Apple only launched the iPhone 17 lineup in September, so it’s a surprise that we are seeing discounts on the iPhone Air, albeit small. The biggest discount available is on the iPhone 16e, which has £100 off at Amazon: a good saving. Also be on the look out for deals (like this one from AO) on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max which are no longer sold by Apple but would offer a good option to those who appreciate the extra camera on the Pro iPhone models but can’t stretch to the iPhone 17 Pro.
We’d suggest that when it comes to the other deals you should weigh them up against Apple’s own giveaway, where you could get £60 or £40 vouchers with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, or iPhone 16e, respectively. For example, £100 off an iPhone 16e is better than Apple’s £40 voucher, but AO’s £55 off iPhone 16 (128GB) doesn’t match Apple’s £60 voucher deal so it would be worth waiting to see it that goes lower.
These are the best deals we’ve seen so far:
Amazon, iPhone Air (256GB): £969 (£30 off, RRP £999)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (128GB): £499 (£100 off, RRP £599)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (256GB): £599 (£100 off, RRP £699)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (512GB): £799 (£100 off, RRP £899)
AO, iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP was £999)
Apple, £60 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus

Black Friday Apple accessories deals
There are lots more Apple products you can buy to go with your new Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Whether it’s a mouse and keyboard for your Mac, an Apple Pencil or keyboard cover to go with your iPad, charging cables and adapters, or AirTags so you can keep track of everything, you can grab a discount this Black Friday.
If you see a deal on any Apple Pencils, make sure they work with your iPad first. The Apple Pencil Pro is the newest model and is compatible with the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini. The USB-C Apple Pencil is also compatible with these models as well as the 10th-gen iPad, but is missing some of the Pro features, most notably magnetic charging, squeeze gestures, and pressure sensitivity..

Apple’s Black Friday 2025: Apple’s annual shopping event
Apple holds a shopping event every Black Friday, but it doesn’t offer actual discounts. Instead, Apple gives away gift cards when you buy certain products, which can be used on a future purchase. In 2025, Apple is offering the following gift card values over Black Friday:
$25/£20 Apple Gift Card: AirPods 4, AirPods 4 (ANC), Apple TV 4K, Apple Pencil Pro, Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard for iPad Air, Magic Keyboard Folio for iPad, Beats Pill
$50/£40 Apple Gift Card: iPhone 16e, HomePod, AirPods Pro 3, iPad (A16), iPad mini, Beats Studio Pro, Beats Solo 4, Beats Studio Buds +, Powerbeats Pro 2, Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 11
$75/£60 Apple Gift Card: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, AirPods Max
$100/£80 Apple Gift Card: iPad Air, Mac mini
$175/£140 Apple Gift Card: 13-inch MacBook Air
$150/£120 Apple Gift Card: iMac
$200/£160 Apple Gift Card: 15-inch MacBook Air
$250/£200 Apple Gift Card: 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro (M4 Pro/M4 Max)
This years deal is better than last years, with a maximum of $250/£200 being given away in the form of Gift Vouchers, and in some cases, such as the iPhones, we are seeing better savings via Apple than elsewhere.

$6 Fake iPhone Pocket Already Available Days after Apple's iPhone Pocket sold out around the world, fake versions of the accessory have started to become available online.
Earlier this month, Apple introduced the iPhone Pocket in collaboration with Japanese fashion brand ISSEY MIYAKE. The 3D-knitted limited edition accessory is designed to carry an iPhone.
The accessory is like a stretchy pocket, not unlike an iPod Sock, but elongated to form a strap made of a ribbed, elastic textile that fully encloses an iPhone yet allows you to glimpse the display through its open structure. It comes in a short strap variant for $149.95 and a long strap variant for $229.95.
The iPhone Pocket became available to order on Apple's online store starting Friday, November 14, in the United States, France, China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. It quickly sold out around the world.
Now, lookalike versions of the accessories have started to become available on Chinese sites like AliExpress, where you can buy an iPhone Pocket clone for as little as $6. Some listings describe it as a 1:1 replica, but there is no ISSEY MIYAKE print on the label. They describe the accessory as being made with the same production processes. Both the short and long variants are available in all of the original color options.
Apple products and accessories are often replicated by manufacturers in China, but the turnaround for these particular copies has been especially fast. As with most reproductions, quality can vary, yet for customers who missed out on the limited-edition release, found it too expensive, or simply like the aesthetic, the dramatically lower price of these lookalikes may make them a tempting alternative. This article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

How we choose these iPhone deals
We track prices at major U.S. and U.K. retailers and carriers and feature the best deals on current models (no old iPhones) that at least match Apple’s own Black Friday offer (up to $75/£60 gift card with the iPhone 16, or $50/£40 with iPhone 16e).
We only feature deals from trusted retailers and carriers, and ensure we read the fine print so there aren’t any tricks.
The deals are reviewed often to make sure they are still available, with expired or sold-out models annotated or removed.
Best U.S. iPhone deals for Black Friday 2025
These are Apple’s iPhone offers for Black Friday:
$75 gift card with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
$50 gift card with iPhone 16e
Best U.S. iPhone carrier deals for Black Friday 2025
In the U.S., most of the deals come from carriers and carry a bunch of strings—trade-in requirements, new lines, and discounts offered as bill credits over two or three years:
AT&T: You can get up to $1,100 off the iPhone 17 Pro when you trade in an eligible iPhone. The savings transform into monthly credits on your bill for the next 36 months.
T-Mobile: The carrier offers the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air for free if you either switch to T-Mobile or trade in a qualifying phone, as long as you’re on a qualifying Experience Beyond plan. The phone is paid through 24 monthly bill credits.
Verizon: Get an iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro free with trade in and certain Unlimited plans. This phone is paid through 36 monthly bill credits.
U.S. Cellular: Up to $1,100 off iPhone 17 Pro (or any other iPhone) with a new line and qualifying plan. This phone is paid through 36 monthly bill credits.
Xfinity Mobile: If you trade in a qualifying phone you can get up to $1,100 off a new iPhone 17 series model until Dec. 2. Paid as 24 monthly bill credits with a 24-month contract.
Boost Mobile: You can get $850 off the price of the iPhone 17 with Boost’s $65 per month plan.
Best U.K. iPhone deals for Black Friday 2025
These are Apple’s iPhone deals for Black Friday:
£60 gift card with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
£40 gift card with iPhone 16e
In the U.K., there are fewer limitations on the sale of iPhones, so you will be able to pick one up unlocked at a discount if you would prefer to buy an iPhone up front, rather than on a contract.
As long as you don’t mind the fact that this iPhone only has one rear camera, we recommend the £100 off iPhone 16e deal at Amazon, in particular the £599 deal on the 256GB model. The newest iPhone to get a cut-price deal is the iPhone Air, which has £30 off.
Also be on the look out for deals (like this one from AO) on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max which are no longer sold by Apple but would offer a good option to those who appreciate the extra camera on the Pro iPhone models but can’t stretch to the iPhone 17 Pro.
Amazon, iPhone Air (256GB): £969 (£30 off, RRP £999)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (128GB): £499 (£100 off, RRP £599)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (256GB): £599 (£100 off, RRP £699)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (512GB): £799 (£100 off, RRP £899)
AO, iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP was £999)
Apple, £60 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
Apple, £40 gift voucher with iPhone 16e
We’d suggest that when it comes to the other deals you should weigh them up against Apple’s own giveaway, where you could get £60 or £40 vouchers with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, or iPhone 16e, respectively. For example, £100 off an iPhone 16e is better than Apple’s £40 voucher, but AO’s £55 off iPhone 16 (128GB) doesn’t match Apple’s £60 voucher deal so it would be worth waiting to see it that goes lower.
How to get the best iPhone deals for Black Friday 2025: Our Advice
Apple is offering a $75/£60 gift card with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, and $50/£40 with the iPhone 16e, you should make sure that any offers you see beat those prices.
Black Friday can be a good time to get a deal on an older iPhone, such as the iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max which are now discontinued. These will be worth grabbing if you see them at a good price.
iPhone 17: Apple only launched the iPhone 17 lineup in September so we don’t expect to see big discounts, other than the typical “free iPhone as bill credits over several years with a qualifying plan” deals that are always on offer in the U.S.
iPhone 16: Shoppers should look out for discounts on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, but note that Apple has already cut prices by $100/£100. Also note that Apple no longer sells the 512GB versions of these handsets, so if you find those models on sale at a good price we recommend buying them. Similarly, if you see the now discontinued, iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max on sale at a good price then these would be a good purchase.
iPhone 16e: The price of the iPhone 16e will likely drop. This is Apple’s ‘budget’ handset so it already has a low price though so don’t expect huge additional savings.
We don’t recommend any iPhones older than the ones above, especially not the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus which are not Apple Intelligence compatible.
iPhone earphones deals for Black Friday 2025
Many of the best deals are going to be on iPhone accessories—cases, chargers, cables, and the like. There are way too many such products to keep track of, and many small discounts come and go throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale. We highlight only the most interesting bargains; products that are rarely discounted or exceptionally good prices on accessories we recommend.

Does Apple discount iPhones for Black Friday?
Rather than discount its products, every year Apple holds a shopping event from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. Apple’s Black Friday ‘deal’ takes the form of gift card offers, rather than actual savings. This year, you can get an iPhone 16 or 16 Plus with a gift card worth $75/£60, or an iPhone 16e with a gift card worth $50/£40.
The deals over the past few years show that Apple’s offer this year is right in line with the offers from previous years.
We recommend the deal, especially in the U.S. where iPhones don’t tend to get price cuts. For U.K. readers the Apple voucher prices are a good indication as to how much money off an iPhone would be considered a good deal.

Prices checked on November 26. Deals change quickly during Black Friday; we update this page throughout the day.
How we pick the best iPad deals
Macworld knows iPads. Our editors have used and reviewed every major iPad release and nearly every generation over the past 15 years, and have a working knowledge of all models, features, and specs. We buy iPads ourselves and track price drops all throughout the year, so we can tell the difference between a legitimate Black Friday deal and one that’s disguised to look good. We have a working knowledge of each model’s all-time low and make our recommendations accordingly.
Best Black Friday 2025 iPad deals
Black Friday itself is still a few days away, but Black Friday Week is here now, and Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers in the U.S., U.K., and elsewhere are already slashing prices.
In the U.S. all of Apple’s iPads are at or below their all-time low, including the new M5 iPad Pro, which launched in October and received its first-ever discount which is a massive $100 off. We gave it a five star review as it is undoubtedly the best tablet on the market, but if you own an iPad Pro M4, or are looking at a deal on one, we suggest that it’s not a huge update from the older model.
There is also a a decent $100 off the iPad Air. Of note, the 128GB A16 iPad is $5 below its previous all-time low price with a $75 saving.
U.S.
Amazon, 11-inch M5 iPad Pro (256GB): $899 ($100 off, MSRP $999)
Amazon, 13-inch M5 iPad Pro (256GB): $1,199 ($100 off, MSRP $1,299)

Amazon, iPad mini (A17 Pro, 128GB): $399 ($100 off, MSRP $499)
Amazon, 11-inch M3 iPad Air (128GB): $449 ($150 off, MSRP $599)
Amazon, 13-inch M3 iPad Air (128GB): $649 ($150 off, MSRP $799)
Apple, $100 gift card with iPad Air
Apple, $50 gift card with iPad and iPad mini
Amazon, 11-inch M4 iPad Pro (512GB): $1,049 ($150 off with coupon, MSRP $1,199)
Amazon, 13-inch M4 iPad Pro (256GB): $1,199 ($150 off with coupon, MSRP $1,299)
U.K.
In the U.K. we’re seeing a great £100 saving on the iPad Air, which is an excellent deal, but the deals on the other iPads in the U.K. aren’t as big as they are in the U.S (yet). The M5 iPad Pro only has a small saving, so right now we are looking at the older models to get a better discount. With that in mind, we’d recommend the M4 iPad Pro if you can find one (it’s £206 off at Amazon, but selling out fast).
Amazon, 11-inch M5 iPad Pro (128GB): £944 (£55 off, RRP £999)
KRCS, 13-inch M5 iPad Pro (128GB): £1,273 (£26 off, RRP £1,299)

How to get the best iPad deals for Black Friday 2025: Our Advice
Britta O’Boyle
If you’re not sure which model is right for you, read our in-depth iPad buying guide. Here’s a quick overview of Apple’s lineup:
iPad: Apple updated its cheapest iPad in 2025 with an A16 chip and twice the storage (128GB) of the previous model. At $349, it’s already a fantastic value, but the Black Friday $274 price puts it in impulse-buy territory.
iPad mini: The iPad mini was updated in October 2024 with an A17 Pro processor, 8GB of RAM, and twice the storage (128GB). It regularly drops to $399, which is what we’re seeing for Black Friday as well.
iPad Air: Apple updated the iPad Air with an M3 processor in 2024, but left it otherwise unchanged. It still comes in two sizes, 11 inches and 13 inches, and has the same gorgeous design. We saw price cuts as high as $150 off for Prime Day, and the Black Friday sales we’ve tracked so far match that.
iPad Pro: The iPad Pro was updated in October with an M5 processor, but nothing else has changed. So we recommend looking for significant savings on the M4 model (and we will spotlight them when they appear).

Does Apple discount iPads for Black Friday?
Every year, Apple holds a shopping event from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. However, Apple rarely discounts its products and the event consists of gift card offers rather than actual savings.
The Apple Black Friday shopping event for 2025 has been announced, and the iPad Air, iPad mini, and standard iPad are all included. It’s no real surprise that the M5 iPad Pro is excluded, as it was just released in October. You can get a gift card for $100/£80 with the Air and $50/£40 with the other iPads.

Apple’s dual-USB-C iPhone-MacBook charger is half off for Black Friday Macworld
Even if you don’t need a new Mac or iPad, Black Friday is the perfect time to stock up on essential gear. Like one of our favorite chargers: Apple’s 35W dual-port charger is down to $29 at Amazon right now, a massive $30 off and the best price we’ve ever seen.
Apple’s charger is as stylish as everything else that comes from the company. With a 35W output, you can use the charger for iPads, your Apple Watch, the new AirPods, or the MacBook Air. With two USB-C ports, you can charge two devices at once (albeit more slowly), and if you pair it with speedy USB-C cables, you’ll be able to fast-charge an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
One of the best things about this Apple charger is that it features foldable prongs, so it’s going to be super easy to throw into your bag without worrying about them scratching any of your other gear or snagging on clothes. And it’s pretty small too, so you’ll barely even know you’re carrying it.
So go grab this Black Friday deal for the 35W Apple dual USB-C power adapter for $29 and solve all of your charging needs.

iPad mini may be on track to get a display upgrade before the iPad Air, weirdly Macworld
The next iPad mini, surprisingly, appears to be on track to get an OLED screen before the more expensive iPad Air. But according to a new report from a prolific leaker, this still won’t happen until the second half of next year.
The matter was discussed in a post this week by the Weibo account Instant Digital. “iPad mini will be the first to feature OLED technology,” the account wrote (via Google Translate), “while iPad Air has not seen any movement.”
It may be worth pointing out that the iPad mini won’t actually be the first iPad to get an OLED display. That distinction falls to the M4 iPad Pro models, which got an OLED panel last year. But this may be an issue with translation.
At any rate, Instant Digital elaborated on its prediction in below-the-line discussions with commenters. When asked if the mini’s screen would be 60Hz, the account responded that it didn’t know, but “the earliest it will be released is the third or fourth quarter of next year, we’ll see then.” A Q3 launch would see the next iPad mini release alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, and perhaps the iPhone Fold.
That would be a two-year wait from the launch of the 7th-gen mini, which came out in fall 2024, but this pales in comparison with the gaps between the past few generations. There was a three-year gap between the 6th and 7th minis, two and a half years between 5th and 6th, and three and a half between 4th and 5th. Yearly iPad mini refreshes haven’t been the norm since 2015.
In another conversation, this time focusing on the relationship between refresh rate and price, the account said “the overall cost of the OLED screen in the mini is kept very low.” Which appears to suggest that a 60Hz rather than 120Hz is more likely. Nevertheless, the inclusion of OLED on a comparatively budget-focused tablet like the iPad mini would be a pleasant surprise, to go with more pedestrian upgrades like the expected A19 Pro chip.
iPad mini with OLED expected to arrive by the end of 2026 Speculation of an OLED iPad mini continues to grow, with a leaker believing it will arrive before the end of 2026.An iPad mini update could bring with it an OLED screenApple's iPad Pro lineup has already shifted to OLED, and with the general trend in Apple's hardware shifting towards using the display tech, others are expected to make the move eventually. If a leaker is to be trusted, that could happen within a year for one iPad model. In a Weibo post on Wednesday, serial leaker Instant Digital claims that the iPad mini will be the first non-Pro iPad to feature OLED. However, they say there's no sign of movement for an OLED iPad Air. Rumor Score: 🤯 Likely Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums

The annual Black Friday extravaganza is always a fantastic time to buy an Apple Watch, with big savings from a wide variety of retailers. Technically, it lasts just four days, from Black Friday (November 28) to Cyber Monday (December 1), but we have been seeing some great deals on Apple Watches throughout November and they are really ramping up now.
In this article, we will share all the best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025. We have tools that we can use to check the prices everywhere, so we always know who has the best price and can share them here. We also share our advice about how to get the best deal on an Apple Watch, what to look out for, and what to avoid.

Also check our Best Picks round ups where you can see reviews of all the products we rate as a good purchase. And if you aren’t sure which watch to buy, read our comparison of every Apple Watch.
Prices checked on November 26. Deals change quickly during Black Friday; we update this page throughout the day.
How we pick the best Apple Watch deals
We’ve tested every Apple Watch model that Apple has ever sold, and wear them in our daily lives. We regularly check Apple Watch prices from all the retailers and have an extensive historical knowledge of historical prices and all-time lows. Therefore we know when we find a really good deal on a really good product, and we will share it here.
Right now our team is checking prices across Amazon and other major retailers several times a day and highlighting the verified low prices at the time of our latest update. We also evaluate deal prices against the current MSRP/RRP for each model and spot any discrepancies that might be missed when looking at the price of older models to help our readers avoid scams.
Finally, what actually constitutes a good deal? U.S. buyers should be looking at a benchmark of roughly $50 to $70 off the current models and $100 or more off discontinued ones, which is what we saw in 2024. Deals tend to be weaker in the U.K., where we struggled to find £30 off anything in 2024.
Best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025
Want to get a bargain on a new Apple Watch? These are the best deals we’ve seen so far. Check out our advice below this section for tips on what to look out for.
U.S.
You can save $60 on the new Apple Watch Series 11 at Amazon, but there is also $150 off the older model, which isn’t all that different (the two new health features, hypertension alerts and Sleep Score, are also available on the Series 10), so definitely worth your attention.
We gave the Apple Watch SE 3 a near-perfect score of 4.5 stars and highly recommend it at full price—for $50 off, it’s a no-brainer decision. There’s only $20 off the Ultra 3, so it’s probably worth waiting a little longer on that one to see if prices drop again.
Amazon, Apple Watch Series 11 (42mm): $339 ($60 off, MSRP $399)
Amazon, Apple Watch Series 11 (46mm): $369 ($60 off, MSRP $429)
Amazon, Apple Watch SE 3 (40mm): $199 ($50 off, MSRP $249)
Amazon, Apple Watch SE 3 (44mm): $229 ($50 off, MSRP $279)
Amazon, Apple Watch Ultra 3: $780 ($20 off, MSRP $799)
Walmart, Apple Watch Series 10 (42mm): $249 ($150 off, was $399 – clearance)
Walmart, Apple Watch Series 10 (46mm): $279 ($150 off, was $429 – clearance)
Apple, $50 gift card with Apple Watch SE 3 and Series 11
U.K.
In the U.K. the deals are small on the newest Apple Watch models, but we anticipate that they will improve once Black Friday is here.
Amazon, Apple Watch Ultra 3: £719 (£30 off, RRP £749)

How to get the best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Like always, Apple sells three watches, but for the first time in years, all three models were updated this year.
Apple Watch Series 11: The standard Apple Watch Series 11 starts at the same price as previous watches ($399/£369) and is largely the same as the Series 10. The main upgrade is better battery life (24 hours vs 18 hours), 5G connectivity (on cellular models), and better scratch resistance. We’re spotlighting a deal on the Series 10 for $120 off and recommend grabbing it instead of paying more for the Series 11.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: The Apple Watch Ultra 3 ($799/£749) has a slightly larger screen, 5G connectivity, Emergency SOS via satellite, and significantly longer battery life (42 hours vs 36 hours). With prices already dropping by $100, we recommend picking up the newer model if you’re looking for a large, rugged watch.
Apple Watch SE 3: Apple updated the Apple Watch SE for the first time in years and gave it several overdue features, including an always-on display, skin temperature sensor, gestures, 5G (on cellular models), a faster chip, and fast charging. With the same $249/£219 starting price, an older SE 2 would need to be around $100 to be worth it. Early Black Friday sales are already pushing the price of the SE 3 under $200 and we think it’s a fantastic option for just about anyone.

Black Friday Apple Watch deals: What to avoid
Spot bad deals: It’s important to be aware that Black Friday brings bad deals as well as good ones. Retailers don’t want to give you a great deal; they want you to buy their unwanted stock at a high price and will use all sorts of tricks to persuade you to do so. Don’t let them get away with it.
Check the real pricing: Always check the current MSRP/RRP for the watch you’re planning to buy (we include these with all of our recommended deals). In the U.K. Apple dropped prices on the new set of Watches when they were introduced, but retailers will conveniently forget to mention this and quote the old price instead. That makes their discount look bigger and the deal more appealing. Some retailers also raise their own prices ahead of Black Friday, then drop them back down and claim a large saving. Price tracker sites like CamelCamelCamel can help you to work out if this has happened. We will also flag it if we see it.
Read about the product: It’s worth checking reviews and buying guides (such as ours, linked above) to assess the age and worth of the device. Make sure you’re not being fobbed off with antiquated stock. Also, watch out for deals on the cellular models; these can look like big savings, but in our experience, there is little point in owning a cellular Apple Watch. You might as well pay less and get the standard model.
Does Apple discount Apple Watches for Black Friday?
Apple doesn’t drop prices for Black Friday. Rather, it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. For Apple’s Black Friday deal in 2025, it is giving away $50/£40 gift cards with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 11 purchases made on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site. The Series 10 wasn’t included in 2024’s sale, so the fact that the Apple Watch 11 is included this year is a nice surprise.

Apple's Founding Papers Return to Auction, Could Fetch Up to $4 Million Christie's is preparing to auction off the original partnership contract that created the Apple Computer Company on April 1, 1976, valuing it in the region of $2-4 million.
The original three-page document served as the contract among Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ron Wayne. The agreement established initial shares at 45% for Jobs, 45% for Wozniak, and 10% for Wayne.
Additional papers documenting Wayne's withdrawal as a partner just 12 days after the company was formed are also included in the auction package. Wayne initially received $800 for his 10% share of the company, and later received an additional $1,500 payment.
Wayne later stated he withdrew because he knew the venture would be a "roller coaster" and that the high-stakes ride was not for him.
If Wayne's original 10% stake had somehow remained untouched, it would be worth about $409 billion today based on Apple's $4 trillion valuation. That's only a playful comparison, mind, since decades of stock splits, new share issuances, and structural changes mean that early 10% slice has no realistic connection to Apple's modern share count!
Christie's will offer the founding contract and Wayne's withdrawal agreement as a single lot on January 23, 2026.
In the early 1990s, Wayne sold the physical copy of the founding contract for $500. Apple's founding corporate papers were last sold at auction by Sotheby's in December 2011. That lot also included Wayne's withdrawal, and it was sold to a private collector for nearly $1.6 million.

Anker’s fast-charging 240W USB-C cables drop under $10 for Black Friday Macworld
It’s time to drop some of those old cables you keep hoarding like they’re made of gold and you’re a dragon — you have to admit they barely move the needle when it comes to actually charging your gear. This 240W Anker USB-C cable is on sale this Black Friday, with the price dropping to a penny under $10.
This is a 3-foot cable that will blaze through charging any of your gear, from small tech like earbuds and smartphones to tablets and laptops. With uber fast charging, not only will you keep all your gear at 100 percent battery around the clock, but it will also do it fast. With a 240W charging power, a 15-inch MacBook Air M2, for instance, can go from 0 to 50 percent in just half an hour with a 70W charger, like this Anker one that’s on sale for $35 ($15 off).
The cable isn’t going to break on you, either, because it’s covered with durable braided nylon. This is rugged enough that it can survive some 20,000 bends in its lifespan without issue. It’s also good for transfers at USB-2 speeds (480 Mbps) if you need to transfer small files in a pinch.
Frankly, this is a fantastic time to get yourself a new, uber-fast Anker 240W USB-C cable since $10 is the best price we’ve ever seen.

ChatGPT Voice Mode Now Works Inside Your Existing Conversation OpenAI has updated the voice feature in its ChatGPT app so that voice conversations now happen directly inside an ongoing chat instead of forcing users into a separate voice-only session.
The change means responses now appear in real-time with text – plus any visuals like images and maps – as you speak, making switching between voice and text smoother while preserving chat history and context.
Previously, when you used "Advanced Voice Mode," voice chats opened in their own window, which would exit your current conversation and knock you out of your workflow. The update means voice and text interactions are now integrated in one seamless conversation thread.
Users who prefer the old separate voice mode, characterized by the floating orb, can easily revert back to it via Settings ➝ Voice Mode ➝ Separate mode. The option is available on both ChatGPT for web and mobile apps updated to the latest version.

Is Walmart’s $549 M1 MacBook Air too good to be true? Macworld
If you’re shopping for a MacBook this holiday season, you’ll find a few deals to save a few bucks, sometimes up to $250. But there’s one laptop for sale by a prominent retailer that looks like a deal that’s too good to be true: A MacBook Air for sale by Walmart for $549.
The Walmart MacBook Air isn’t a refurbished or used product–it’s a brand new laptop, the lowest-priced new Apple laptop you can find, in fact. It’s unclear what partnership it has with Apple, but Walmart has exclusively sold the M1 MacBook Air since 2004, when it first announced its $699 price tag. The price has been cut several times since then.
The lowest-priced MacBook at the Apple Store is the $999 MacBook Air, which you can find at third-party retailers such as Amazon for $749. But at $200 less than even that sale price, that $549 price tag for a brand-new MacBook Air is unprecedented and hard to resist, especially at a time when it feels like prices are going up for everything.
There’s got to be a catch, right? After all, it seems like a deal that’s too good to be true. Well, to say there’s a “catch” implies that there’s deception going on here, and that’s really not the case. (Though we take issue with the use of the label “Latest model” here.) But several compromises are made for a product at this price, compromises that you might be okay with, depending on your use case. Let’s take a look at what you’re getting in the $549 Walmart MacBook Air.
The $549 MacBook Air at Walmart can be a great deal for some, and a lousy deal for others.Foundry
A five-year-old chip
The Walmart MacBook Air is the 2020 MacBook Air. It has the same components, down to the heart of the laptop, the M1 chip. The M1 chip made a thunderous debut five years ago, blowing away its Intel predecessors with its huge performance gains.
The most current M-series chip is the M5, but it has yet to debut in the MacBook Air–the current MacBook Air has an M4 chip. Compared to the M1, the M4 is 74 percent faster in multi-core tasks and 56 percent faster in single-core performance.

How to get the best AirPods deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
We’re seeing some incredible sales on all four AirPods models this year, with all-time low prices on the AirPods 4 and AirPods Max. Here’s what to look out for:
AirPods 4: Apple’s cheapest AirPods weren’t updated in 2025, and we’ve seen prices falling all year. Over Prime Day, they dropped to $89 and early Black Friday sales have already dipped even lower. We don’t know if they’ll get as low as $75, but it’s possible.
AirPods 4 with ANC: Apple sells a version of the AirPods 4 with noise cancellation for an extra $50, but we’ve seen them as low as $119. With AirPods 4 ANC getting a larger price drop heading into Black Friday, we could see the ANC model inch closer to $110.
AirPods Pro 3: Apple just released the newest AirPods Pro 3 in September alongside the iPhone 17, so we’re not expecting the kind of deep discounts we saw last year with AirPods Pro 2. However, we might see the remaining stock of AirPods Pro 2 drop as low as $150.
AirPods Max: Apple’s over-the-ear AirPods Max haven’t been updated in a meaningful way since 2020. They still have an H1 chip, don’t support Apple’s latest AirPods Pro features, and have a very high price tag compared to similar wireless headphones. If you want a pair, we’d recommend waiting until they drop under $400.
Does Apple discount AirPods for Black Friday? Gift card values 2022–2025
Apple doesn’t cut prices for Black Friday, but it does hold a 4-day Shopping Event where it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. Apple’s Black Friday 2025 offer is similar to previous years, with $25 for AirPods 4, $50 for AirPods Pro, and $75 for AirPods Max purchased on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site.

9 essential iPad accessories to unleash your Apple tablet’s full powers Macworld
Apple dominates the tablet market with the iPad, which is the trendiest and, arguably, the most reliable. The company actively develops four main variants of the product with different sizes, specs, and price tags. While iPads on their own are generally capable, their vanilla form factor can be quite limiting.
Fortunately, all iPad models are equipped with a USB-C port and Bluetooth connectivity, letting you easily pair wired and wireless peripherals. Whether you’re using your iPad for work, entertainment, gaming, or something else, you may want to make it more functional with some of these essential accessories.
Foundry
Stylus
Tablets and stylii go hand in hand. Even if you’re not a professional illustrator, a stylus can simplify certain tasks—like taking handwritten notes or doodling casually. And with newer iPadOS versions now recognizing and polishing handwritten text, using a stylus to jot down your thoughts has become even more practical. Similarly, Apple Intelligence can transform your basic scribbles to neat images that better reflect the ideas you have in mind.
While the Apple Pencil (USB-C) (on sale for $69) and Apple Pencil Pro (on sale for $99) offer the tightest ecosystem integrations with your iPad, there are plenty of other solid stylus options out there. The Logitech Crayon (on sale for $53) is a reliable pick featuring a sleek design, high precision, a more affordable price, instant connectivity, and more.
Mouse
With iPadOS 26, Apple redesigned the built-in cursor, putting it on par with that of desktop operating systems. Thanks to its new arrow shape, you can now click smaller buttons more comfortably, even if the touch targets aren’t too wide. To unlock the iPad’s cursor, you’ll first need to pair a compatible mouse or trackpad.
The Logitech MX Master 4 is one of the best mice out there, offering an ergonomic design, quiet buttons, and support for a wide range of devices. If you value aesthetics more than practicality, Apple’s Magic Mouse should also work with your iPad flawlessly.
Keyboard
As an iPad user, you’re probably familiar with how large and unintuitive the software keyboard can be, blocking a significant portion of the screen. What many users don’t know, however, is that you can hide it by connecting a physical keyboard to your iPad. This lets you take full advantage of the tablet’s display.
Apple sells different Magic Keyboard and Keyboard Folio variants designed for specific iPad models. Not only do these double as a protective cover, but they also offer an embedded trackpad. If you’re on a budget, you can opt for a third-party brand, like the Belkin Pro Keyboard Case.
Foundry
Game controller
The iPad Air and iPad Pro now pack Apple’s M-series chips, initially designed for the Mac. At this point, they’re capable of running AAA games, such as Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto. While most iPadOS games offer touch controls, they can be unintuitive for complex gameplay.
iPadOS fully supports certain game controllers, letting you pair and customize them with ease. Sony’s DualSense Controller and Microsoft’s Xbox Controller are two dependable options approved by Apple. If you’re not looking to spend around 70 bucks on a controller, you could opt for any cheaper MFi-certified brand instead.
Foundry
USB-C hub
All iPad models are now limited to a single USB-C port. Consequently, you can’t charge your iPad while using a wired accessory simultaneously. Thankfully, iPadOS supports USB hubs and dongles, letting you add more ports and slots as needed. The manufacturers and port assortments are plentiful, however, so you’ll have to hunt for a variant that caters to your needs. Some of the reputable options include Anker, Belkin, Ugreen, and even Amazon Basics.
Headphones
Now that iPads no longer offer a headphone jack, opting for wireless earbuds is the most convenient route. The AirPods and Beats lines come with varying features, build qualities, and price points, and they all work seamlessly with iPadOS. Some of their perks include effortless firmware updates, instant pairing, automatic device switching, Spatial Audio support, and more. Otherwise, you’ve got plenty of excellent third-party options, such as the Sony WH-1000XM6 Headphones and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds 2nd Gen.
Foundry
External storage
While iPads can accommodate up to 2TB of internal storage, some creatives’ needs extend beyond that limit. Luckily, you can connect both basic flash drives and larger SSDs using the USB-C port. SanDisk and Samsung offer external storage devices that are fully compatible with iPadOS and its built-in Files app. This allows you to quickly offload large files or transfer them to your desktop computer.
Stand
As we’ve established, iPads are great for gaming and media consumption. Needing to hold your tablet at all times, however, can get tiresome and downgrade your experience. A stand can fix that once and for all.
Amazon Basics sells a budget-friendly iPad stand that supports multiple viewing angles. If you’ve got a larger iPad model or want more than the bare minimum, you could go for Ugreen’s higher-end iPad stand (on sale for $15), which comes with a sturdier build, rotating mechanism, and folds up for compact storage. You’ll want to ensure that your iPad’s dimensions are compatible with the chosen stand, however.
Travel bag
Last, you may want to invest in a travel bag or sleeve for when you take your iPad to school, the office, or a café. Given the tablet’s delicate nature, carrying it outdoors without protection can be risky. Luckily, you’ve got plenty of options, with some brands offering minimalist sleeves and others going for larger bags with extra pockets for the charger and other accessories. You may want to check out the Tomtoc Tablet Sleeves, Tomtoc Shoulder Bags, and MoKo Carrying Cases to find the color, material, layout, and size that fit your needs.

Best iMac & Mac mini deals for Black Friday 2025
U.S.
The iMac and Mac mini received an M4 update in October 2024, with the Mac mini also getting a dramatic redesign that shrunk the case down to just 5 inches. We loved the new Mac mini design and M4 chip and there is $120 off at Amazon, which we’d say is a great saving, especially if you don’t need a screen.
The M4 Pro chip version is a great low-cost way to get a really powerful Mac mini and there’s $200 off, so we recommend jumping at any savings here. We don’t know if they will be getting M5 chips, but if they are, they won’t arrive until 2026, so we recommend picking up one of these deals if you’re looking for a Mac desktop.

Black Friday 2025: Top shopping tips
We tend to find that the biggest savings are on older models, but be aware that these aren’t always the best value for money.
Check the generation of the model that is discounted to make sure you know exactly what you are buying and what it’s really worth.
We’ve seen resellers switch to selling refurbished or used when the stock of brand-new models run out, so check that the model discounted isn’t actually a used Mac and therefore not as good a deal as it might look.
That’s not to say you should avoid refurb models; you just need to make sure that you aren’t buying something used when you want a new model.
Mac deals aren’t limited to Black Friday. We see good deals all year round, so don’t feel pressured into buying during Black Friday.
How to get the best MacBook deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Foundry
Apple updated nearly all of its MacBook models in 2025, and we expect to see all-time-low pricing on many models and configurations.
M4 MacBook Air: released this past March with a $100 price cut. The base model is $999 and can be found for $750/£849 during Black Friday week.
M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pro: released in 2024 and are still excellent machines. Worth the investment when it’s $300/£250 or more off.
M5 MacBook Pro: released in October, but we are already seeing discounts of $200 and £200.
For more information about the differences and which MacBook might be best for you, read How the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro compare.
How to get the best Mac deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Simon Jary / Foundry
Apple hasn’t updated any of its consumer-level desktop Macs in 2025, so prices on the M4 models are as low as they’ve ever been:
M4/M4 Pro Mac mini: Apple updated the Mac mini late last year with an M4 chip and a new design. The M4 Mac mini is a fantastic device with an extremely small footprint, so don’t hesitate to grab one at a discount, we’ve seen $200/£130 off.
M4 iMac: The iMac has a 24-inch 4.5K display and a speedy M4 processor starting at $1,299. Look for sales below $1,150/£1,170 before you decide to buy one.
Does Apple discount Macs for Black Friday?
Apple doesn’t drop prices for Black Friday. Rather, it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. For Apple’s Black Friday shopping event in 2025 it is giving away gift cards with MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac and M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pro purchases made on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site. Since they are so new, the M5 MacBook Pro models aren’t included in Apple’s deal.
The 2025 deal is pretty good. You can get a gift card for up to $250 on a new Mac, which is better than 2024’s maximum offer.

Buying from Apple means you are guaranteed to be buying the latest Mac, whereas other resellers may be clearing old stock. You then have a gift card to buy something else from Apple, including Apple TV, Apple Music, and Apple One subscriptions.

iPhone 17 Helps Apple Reclaim Top Spot From Samsung After 14 Years Apple is set to reclaim the title of world's largest smartphone maker for the first time since 2011, driven by the success of the iPhone 17 lineup, according to Counterpoint Research data (via Bloomberg).
Based on the firm's data, iPhone shipments are projected to grow 10% in 2025, easily outpacing Samsung's 4.6% growth. As a result, Apple is expected to capture a 19.4% global market share as the overall smartphone market expands 3.3% for the year.
The iPhone 17 series has posted double-digit year-over-year sales growth in both the U.S. and China. Counterpoint previously reported that the iPhone 17 lineup outsold iPhone 16 models by 14% during the first 10 days of availability in those markets, and that Apple had a record October in China with sales jumping 37% year-over-year.
Apple is also benefiting from easing U.S.-China trade tensions and a weaker dollar that has boosted purchases in emerging markets.
Counterpoint analyst Yang Wang said the key driver behind the upgraded shipment outlook was a replacement cycle "inflection point," as consumers who bought phones during the pandemic boom are now ready to upgrade. Wang noted that 358 million secondhand iPhones were sold between 2023 and Q2 2025, representing another pool of potential upgraders.
Looking ahead, Wang expects Apple to extend its lead with the 2026 launch of its first foldable iPhone and a budget-friendly iPhone 17e, followed by a major iPhone design overhaul in 2027, in celebration of the device's 20th anniversary.Related Roundups: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 ProTag: CounterpointBuyer's Guide: iPhone 17 (Buy Now), iPhone 17 Pro (Buy Now)Related Forum: iPhoneThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums
