Amazon Renewed Premium – the best way to score a deal on iPhone, now up to $880 off for Black Friday weekend Scoring a sweet Black Friday deal on a set of AirPods, the M4 MacBook Air you have had your eye on, an iPad, or even Apple’s new M5 MacBook Pro at $250 off is a relatively easy process – follow 9to5Toys. An iPhone though is a bit of a different beast, especially when it comes to unlocked units. There are some seriously great iPhone deals out there, and perhaps the best source of all is Amazon’s Renewed Premium listings – there are hundreds in savings available here with solid 1-year warranties on the best condition units, but there are few things to watch out for so you don’t get burned.

The best MagSafe stands for iPhone, nearly $100 off for Black Friday One of my favorite iPhone features is StandBy, which turns your iPhone into a smart display when it’s in landscape orientation and charging. The best to take full advantage of StandBy is with an upright wireless charger.

The 5 best Apple Store offers during Apple’s 4-day shopping event Macworld
Black Friday is here, and there are some truly incredible deals on Apple products. From AirPods for $69 to hundreds off MacBooks, if you’re looking for some new Apple gear, you’re almost certain to find it.
Even Apple gets in on the fun with its own Apple Store Shopping Event that lasts from Black Friday through Cyber Monday. It doesn’t offer limited-time price cuts, but instead hands out gift cards for eligible products ranging from $25 to $250. The good thing is you can use the gift card on anything Apple sells, including subscriptions and App Store purchases. So even if you’re not planning on buying another device for a while, you can still put your gift card to good use.
With that in mind, here are our five favorite Apple Store offers:
iPhone 16/16 Plus: $75 gift card
iPhones are rarely on sale outside of long-term carrier switching deals, so any time we can get an unlocked phone for less than the MSRP, it’s a good deal. The iPhone 16 was already cut by $100 in September when the iPhone 17 arrived, so you’re saving even more here. For $624 after the gift card, you’re getting a phone with 128GB of storage that supports Apple Intelligence, a great camera system, and better color options than the 16e.
Get the iPhone 16 at the Apple Store
HomePod: $50 gift card
The HomePod is one of Apple’s most overlooked products, but it’s a fantastic speaker for its $299 price. If very rarely goes on sale for more than $20 or $30 off, so the $50 gift card here is a better bargain than you’ll find at Best Buy (one of the only places to buy one outside of an Apple Store). It sounds great on its own, or you can pick up a second (with another gift card) to create a stereo pair for your home theater.

Apple TV 4K: $25 gift card
Even without an update since 2022, the Apple TV 4K is the best streaming box on the market. It’s also almost never on sale. The main difference between the two models is the ethernet port–the $149 model has one, so if you want to hook up to a wired connection, that’s the one you need to buy. Otherwise, the cheaper model is fine. But whichever one you get, you’ll never want to use another streaming app again.
Get Apple TV 4K at the Apple Store
AirPods Pro 3: $50 gift card
AirPods Pro 3 just came out in September, so it’s somewhat of a surprise to see them included in Apple’s Black Friday shopping event. Even more surprising is that Apple is giving away a $50 gift card with purchase, essentially knocking 20 percent off the price. We don’t need to tell you how great they are, but we will tell you that you’re getting a better deal than Amazon.

Apple Watch SE 3: $50 gift card
The Apple Watch SE is one of the rare “budget” Apple products that has the right combination of features, design, and price, and we happily recommend it at $249. But with a $50 gift card as part of Apple’s Black Friday shopping event, we wouldn’t pass it up. It’s not nearly as full-featured as the Series 11 (which gets the same $50 gift card treatment), but you get the things that matter most, including an always-on display, sleep apnea alerts, temperature sensing, water resistance, S10 chip, gestures, and fast charging.

[macOS] I built a menu bar utility to solve a problem every multi-browser user has (Black Friday free unlock) Hey everyone, I wanted to share a macOS app I released this week that solves a very specific (and surprisingly annoying) problem I kept running into as a developer. I constantly switch between Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave and Edge depending on the task: testing, debugging, personal browsing, research, or sandboxing extension behavior. The problem: every […]

Updated November 29: We have reviewed the best prices and found some of more price drops and changes. We will be regularly monitoring the best prices and will update this article throughout the day.
‘Tis the season for savings! Whether you’re looking for a deal on an iPad, Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, or anything else Apple sells, there’s no better time to get one for cheap than Black Friday. The annual shopping extravaganza officially kicked off yesterday, but many of the best deals will last until Cyber Monday on December 1.
Every retailer that sells Apple gear gets in on the fun, and we are rounding up only the best deals we find right here. We regularly check prices using various tools to get a view of the very best prices right now, compared to what they were over the past days, weeks, and months, so we know an excellent deal when we see it.
We’re checking and updating these prices all weekend, so mark this page and return often so you don’t miss a good deal, some of which are short-lived.
Even Apple runs its own Black Friday shopping event, where it offers gift cards on certain purchases, including $50 with AirPods Pro 3, $100 for iPad Air, and $250 with a MacBook Pro.
The bottom line is that there are lots of deals to be found right now, so no matter what Apple device you’re looking for, you will be able to make a saving. So take a look at the deals on all of Apple’s products below. Also, check our Best Picks round-ups, where you can find reviews of all the products we recommend.
How we pick the best Apple deals
At Macworld we’ve been covering and reviewing Apple and Apple devices for more than 40 years, from the original Macintosh to the most recent M5 MacBook Pro and iPhone 17 lineup. We use Apple products every day and purchase them with our own money, so we know a good deal when we see one.
More importantly, we also know how to spot a bad deal. With a working knowledge of everything Apple sells and decades of experience, we know when stores are inflating prices or pushing “normal” sales as limited Black Friday deals, so the listings you see here will only be for discounts that are at or near all-time low prices.
Macworld Black Friday Tip: While shopping this Black Friday we’ve noticed that on Amazon if you delay your delivery date there are additional 3% savings to be had in the U.S. (2% in the U.K.)! This doesn’t apply to every Apple product, unfortunately, but we have seen the additional 3% applied to AirTags, and if you have lots of other eligible products in your shopping cart then it can add up to a decent saving.
Black Friday MacBook Air and MacBook Pro deals
Apple released the new M5 MacBook Pro in October, but still sells M4 Pro and M4 Max models as well as the M4 MacBook Air. The new M5 model is mostly a chip refresh, but it’s a great one, as we said in our 4.5-star review, and right now you can get $250 off all the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro at Amazon, taking it $50 lower than Thursday and down to the lowest price we have seen.
However, even though the new model brings a major boost in GPU and SSD performance, we also loved the M4 model, and you can get an amazing $300 off the M4 MacBook Pro at Amazon.
There are also some excellent deals on the even more powerful MacBook Pro M4 Pro and M4 Max, which are full on workstations now at amazingly low prices, such as $300 off the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro at Amazon, and a whopping $500 off the 16-inch M4 Max MacBook Pro, also at Amazon. You can find more deals below.
And, of course, the MacBook Air is a fantastic option for just about anyone, earning an extremely rare 5-star score in our testing. You can get $250 off the MacBook Air at Amazon.
U.K. shoppers don’t miss out either, with £184 off a 13-inch MacBook Air at Amazon. £200 off the M5 MacBook Pro at KRCS, and £349 off the M4 Pro MacBook Pro at Amazon. See even more great deals below.

Black Friday iMac and Mac mini deals
The iMac and Mac mini received an M4 update in October 2024, with the Mac mini also getting a dramatic redesign that shrunk the case down to just 5 inches. We loved the new Mac mini design and M4 chip and there is $120 off at Amazon. The Mac mini M4 Pro version is a great low-cost way to get a really powerful Mac, and with $200 off it’s a superb saving. We don’t know when they will be getting M5 chips, but if they are, they won’t arrive until 2026, so we recommend picking up one of these deals if you’re looking for a Mac desktop.
U.K. users should take advantage of £100 off the Mac mini, and £130 off the Mac mini pro.

Black Friday AirPods deals
Apple released the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025, with a slightly new design, foam-infused eartips, and a heart-rate sensor. We gave them a near-perfect score in our review, but also noted that it’s a relatively small upgrade over the AirPods Pro 2, which has the same H2 chip and many similar features. The new model has the same $249 MSRP in the U.S. and a slightly lower £219 RRP in the U.K. (AirPods Pro 2 were £229), so keep that in mind when shopping. We don’t expect to see AirPods Pro 3 with more than $30-$50 off, but the older AirPods Pro 2 did dip as low as $139 at Walmart, but that deal seems to have ended now, the next best option is $189 on Amazon.
The AirPods 4 have been out for over a year, but are still a fantastic pair of earbuds. The Black Friday deals of $69 for AirPods 4 and $100 AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation are simply mind-blowing. If you need a pair, grab one, just beware that those deals can sell out quickly, but do keep checking because stock seems to come and go. See more U.S. AirPods deals below.
U.K. readers can save money on the AirPods Pro 2, currently at £169 with Argos, but we’ve also seen them at that price on Amazon (but they go out of stock quickly!). Right now you can also get £20 off the AirPods 4, bringing the price under £100. See more U.K. AirPods deals below.

Black Friday Apple Watch deals
Mike Sawh
Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 11 in September, but there aren’t many exclusive new features beyond better battery life and 5G networking. The two new health features, hypertension alerts and Sleep Score, are also available on the Series 10, and there isn’t a new color this year. As we noted in our review, we don’t think Series 9 or 10 users need to upgrade. We are seeing savings of $60 on the Series 11, which is a great price for such a full-featured watch, but with $150 off the Series 10 you might want to consider that, you won’t miss out on much (See our comparison of every Apple Watch).
The sleeper hit of the new Apple Watch lineup is the SE 3, which got the biggest update of all three models, gaining an always-on display, temperature sensor, a faster chip, on-device Siri, and fast charging. We gave it a near-perfect score of 4.5 stars and highly recommend it at full price—for $50 off, it’s a no-brainer decision.
At the high end, the Ultra 3 has a slightly larger screen, satellite connectivity, and longer battery life compared to last year’s model. We’re looking for at least $50 off, but if you want one, we’d recommend this $599 deal on the Ultra 2 instead.

In the U.K. the deals are small on the newest Apple Watch models, but we anticipate that they will improve once Black Friday is here. And if they don’t our advice would be to snap up Apple’s offer, which will get you a £40 gift card.
The biggest deals on offer right now are on the older models. We’d recommend Argos’s £200 off the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Curry’s £130 off the Apple Watch Series 10. Just keep in mind that in the U.K., Apple cut the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 prices by £30 and £50 compared to the previous generation when they were introduced. Keep this in mind when shopping, because some stores might make savings appear to be larger than they actually are.

Black Friday iPad deals
Apple updated the iPad Air with an M3 chip and the iPad Pro with an M5 chip this year. Neither update brings any huge reason to upgrade, but they’re both excellent tablets. It comes down to preference and budget—if you’re largely using your tablet for consumption (streaming, surfing, games), get an Air, for which we are seeing prices cut by $150, but if you have real work to do on it, get the Pro: you can get $100 off the M5 iPad Pro in the U.S. which is a great deal on such a new device.
The mini hasn’t had a meaningful update in a couple of generations. But as we noted in our review, it’s still the best tablet for its size and a great option for anyone who values ultra portability over screen size. There’s a decent $100 off.
The standard entry-level iPad A16 was an absolute steal at its Black Friday price of $279, but stock has now been wiped out in the sale.

We’re seeing a great £100 saving on the iPad Air, but the deals on the other iPads in the U.K. aren’t as big as they are in the U.S. The M5 iPad Pro only has a small saving, so right now we are looking at the older models to get a better discount. Black Friday iPhone deals
David Price / Foundry
Most iPhone deals in the U.S. are through carriers and require a trade-in or adding a new line. Carriers will likely have enticing deals with trade-ins as well, but be wary of long-term contracts and terms. One opportunity worth considering is Apple’s Black Friday deal: You can buy an iPhone from Apple and get a gift voucher:
Apple, $75 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
Apple, $50 gift voucher with iPhone 16e
In the U.K. there are less limitations on the sale of iPhones so you will be able to pick one up unlocked at a discount if you would prefer to buy an iPhone up front, rather than on a contract.
Apple only launched the iPhone 17 lineup in September, so it’s a surprise that we are seeing £100 off the iPhone Air. The iPhone 16e also has £100 off at Amazon: a good saving. Also be on the look out for deals (like this one from AO) on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max which are no longer sold by Apple but would offer a good option to those who appreciate the extra camera on the Pro iPhone models but can’t stretch to the iPhone 17 Pro.
We’d suggest that when it comes to the other deals you should weigh them up against Apple’s own giveaway, where you could get £60 or £40 vouchers with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, or iPhone 16e, respectively. For example, £100 off an iPhone 16e is better than Apple’s £40 voucher, but AO’s £55 off iPhone 16 (128GB) doesn’t match Apple’s £60 voucher deal so it would be worth waiting to see it that goes lower.
These are the best deals we’ve seen so far:
Amazon, iPhone Air (256GB): £899.10 (£100 off, RRP £999)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (128GB): £499 (£100 off, RRP £599)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (256GB): £599 (£100 off, RRP £699)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (512GB): £799 (£100 off, RRP £899)
AO, iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP was £999)
Apple, £60 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
Apple, £40 gift voucher with iPhone 16e
Black Friday Apple accessories deals
There are lots more Apple products you can buy to go with your new Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Whether it’s a mouse and keyboard for your Mac, an Apple Pencil or keyboard cover to go with your iPad, charging cables and adapters, we are keeping track of everything so you can grab a discount this Black Friday.
It’s a great time to grab a pack of AirTags, with prices dropping to $65 or $74 for a pack of four of Apple’s tracking devices. And we are seeing some nice price cuts on Apple Pencils (just make sure they work with your iPad first). The Apple Pencil Pro ($34 / $20 off) is the newest model and is compatible with the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini.

Apple’s Black Friday 2025: Apple’s annual shopping event
Apple holds a shopping event every Black Friday, but it doesn’t offer actual discounts. Instead, Apple gives away gift cards when you buy certain products, which can be used on a future purchase. In 2025, Apple is offering the following gift card values over Black Friday weekend:
$25/£20 Apple Gift Card: AirPods 4, AirPods 4 (ANC), Apple TV 4K, Apple Pencil Pro, Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard for iPad Air, Magic Keyboard Folio for iPad, Beats Pill
$50/£40 Apple Gift Card: iPhone 16e, HomePod, AirPods Pro 3, iPad (A16), iPad mini, Beats Studio Pro, Beats Solo 4, Beats Studio Buds +, Powerbeats Pro 2, Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 11
$75/£60 Apple Gift Card: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, AirPods Max
$100/£80 Apple Gift Card: iPad Air, Mac mini
$175/£140 Apple Gift Card: 13-inch MacBook Air
$150/£120 Apple Gift Card: iMac
$200/£160 Apple Gift Card: 15-inch MacBook Air
$250/£200 Apple Gift Card: 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro (M4 Pro/M4 Max)
This years deal is better than last year’s, with a maximum of $250/£200 being given away in the form of gift vouchers, and in some cases, such as the iPhones, we are seeing better savings via Apple than elsewhere.

Black Friday is the biggest shopping event of the year, and it can be a great time to get a good deal on a new iPhone, iPhone accessories, or other Apple gear. The big sale officially starts today, and we are already seeing savings on iPhones at Amazon in the U.K., including £100 off the iPhone Air and iPhone 16e! Apple is giving away up to $75/£60 gift cards with iPhone purchases, and in the U.S., the networks are offering some Black Friday deals for those wishing to upgrade their iPhone.
Below we are tracking all the best Black Friday deals on the Apple iPhone and associated accessories, as well as sharing some advice on where to look and what to look out for. We’ll be updating this page imminently, as the discounts come in. We also have some of the top Apple deals of Black Friday in case they are of interest.
Also check our Best Picks round ups where you can see reviews of all the products we rate as a good purchase. And for help deciding which iPhone to buy take a look at our iPhone Buying Guide and iPhone Comparison chart.
How we choose these iPhone deals
We track prices at major U.S. and U.K. retailers and carriers and feature the best deals on current models (no old iPhones) that at least match Apple’s own Black Friday offer (up to $75/£60 gift card with the iPhone 16, or $50/£40 with iPhone 16e).
We only feature deals from trusted retailers and carriers, and ensure we read the fine print so there aren’t any tricks.
The deals are reviewed often to make sure they are still available, with expired or sold-out models annotated or removed.
iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro: Are there deals?
In the U.S. the networks will offer you various incentives to sign up for an iPhone 17 or 17 Pro/Pro Max:
AT&T does have a Black Friday exclusive on the iPhone Air where you can get it for less than $3 a month.
Verizon‘s Black Friday deal includes an iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad and Apple Watch Series 11.
T-Mobile‘s Black Friday deal is a saving on a iPhone 17 Pro, iPad A16 and Apple Watch SE 3 bundle, details here.
In the U.K. there are no discounts on the price of the iPhone 17 or 17 Pro/Pro Max, but you can save £100 on the price of the iPhone Air.
Amazon, iPhone Air (256GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP £999)
The best savings are on the iPhone 16e which we detail below. You should also consider Apple’s offer of Gift Vouchers with purchases of the iPhone 16e, 16 and 16 Plus.

Best U.S. iPhone carrier deals for Black Friday 2025
In the U.S., most of the deals come from carriers and carry a bunch of strings—trade-in requirements, new lines, and discounts offered as bill credits over two or three years:
AT&T: You can get up to $1,100 off the iPhone 17 Pro when you trade in an eligible iPhone. The savings transform into monthly credits on your bill for the next 36 months. AT&T also has a Black Friday exclusive on the iPhone Air where you can get it for less than $3 a month.
T-Mobile: The carrier offers the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air for free if you either switch to T-Mobile or trade in a qualifying phone, as long as you’re on a qualifying Experience Beyond plan. The phone is paid through 24 monthly bill credits. T-Mobile’s Black Friday deal is a saving on a iPhone 17 Pro, iPad A16 and Apple Watch SE 3 bundle, details here.
Verizon: Get an iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro free with trade in and certain Unlimited plans. This phone is paid through 36 monthly bill credits. Verizon’s Black Friday deal includes an iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad and Apple Watch Series 11.
U.S. Cellular: Up to $1,100 off iPhone 17 Pro (or any other iPhone) with a new line and qualifying plan. This phone is paid through 36 monthly bill credits.
Xfinity Mobile: If you trade in a qualifying phone you can get up to $1,100 off a new iPhone 17 series model until Dec. 2. Paid as 24 monthly bill credits with a 24-month contract.
Boost Mobile: You can get $850 off the price of the iPhone 17 with Boost’s $65 per month plan.
Best U.K. iPhone deals for Black Friday 2025
David Price / Foundry
These are Apple’s iPhone deals for Black Friday:
£60 gift card with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
£40 gift card with iPhone 16e
In the U.K., there are fewer limitations on the sale of iPhones, so you will be able to pick one up unlocked at a discount if you would prefer to buy an iPhone up front, rather than on a contract.
As long as you don’t mind the fact that this iPhone only has one rear camera, we recommend the £100 off iPhone 16e deal at Amazon, in particular the £599 deal on the 256GB model. The newest iPhone to get a cut-price deal is the iPhone Air, which has £30 off.
Also be on the look out for deals (like this one from AO) on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max which are no longer sold by Apple but would offer a good option to those who appreciate the extra camera on the Pro iPhone models but can’t stretch to the iPhone 17 Pro.
Amazon, iPhone Air (256GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP £999)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (128GB): £499 (£100 off, RRP £599)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (256GB): £599 (£100 off, RRP £699)
Amazon, iPhone 16e (512GB): £799 (£100 off, RRP £899)
AO, iPhone 16 (128GB): £644 (£55 off, RRP £699)
AO, iPhone 16 Pro (128GB): £899 (£100 off, RRP was £999)
Apple, £60 gift voucher with iPhone 16 or 16 Plus
Apple, £40 gift voucher with iPhone 16e
We’d suggest that when it comes to the other deals you should weigh them up against Apple’s own giveaway, where you could get £60 or £40 vouchers with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, or iPhone 16e, respectively. For example, £100 off an iPhone 16e is better than Apple’s £40 voucher, but AO’s £55 off iPhone 16 (128GB) doesn’t match Apple’s £60 voucher deal so it would be worth waiting to see it that goes lower.
How to get the best iPhone deals for Black Friday 2025: Our Advice
Apple is offering a $75/£60 gift card with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, and $50/£40 with the iPhone 16e, you should make sure that any offers you see beat those prices.
Black Friday can be a good time to get a deal on an older iPhone, such as the iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max which are now discontinued. These will be worth grabbing if you see them at a good price.
iPhone 17: Apple only launched the iPhone 17 lineup in September so we don’t expect to see big discounts, other than the typical “free iPhone as bill credits over several years with a qualifying plan” deals that are always on offer in the U.S.
iPhone 16: Shoppers should look out for discounts on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, but note that Apple has already cut prices by $100/£100. Also note that Apple no longer sells the 512GB versions of these handsets, so if you find those models on sale at a good price we recommend buying them. Similarly, if you see the now discontinued, iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max on sale at a good price then these would be a good purchase.
iPhone 16e: The price of the iPhone 16e will likely drop. This is Apple’s ‘budget’ handset so it already has a low price though so don’t expect huge additional savings.
We don’t recommend any iPhones older than the ones above, especially not the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus which are not Apple Intelligence compatible.

Many of the best deals are going to be on iPhone accessories—cases, chargers, cables, and the like. There are way too many such products to keep track of, and many small discounts come and go throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale. Does Apple discount iPhones for Black Friday?
Rather than discount its products, every year Apple holds a shopping event from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. Apple’s Black Friday ‘deal’ takes the form of gift card offers, rather than actual savings. This year, you can get an iPhone 16 or 16 Plus with a gift card worth $75/£60, or an iPhone 16e with a gift card worth $50/£40.
The deals over the past few years show that Apple’s offer this year is right in line with the offers from previous years.
We recommend the deal, especially in the U.S. where iPhones don’t tend to get price cuts. For U.K. readers the Apple voucher prices are a good indication as to how much money off an iPhone would be considered a good deal.

The Friday of Black Friday has passed, but the deals will continue all weekend until Cyber Monday on December 1. If you’ve been waiting to buy a new iPad, there’s never been a better time. Literally. Every tablet Apple sells has hit an all-time low price in the 2025 Black Friday sale, with savings of up to $150 off brand-new models.

How we pick the best iPad deals
Macworld knows iPads. Our editors have used and reviewed every major iPad release and nearly every generation over the past 15 years, and have a working knowledge of all models, features, and specs. We buy iPads ourselves and track price drops all throughout the year, so we can tell the difference between a legitimate Black Friday deal and one that’s disguised to look good. We have a working knowledge of each model’s all-time low and make our recommendations accordingly.
Best Black Friday 2025 iPad deals
Black Friday weekend has arrived, and by now it probably feels like the deals have been running all month as Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers in the U.S., U.K., and elsewhere have been slashing prices. The sale has really ramped up now for the Black Friday weekend, but deals are starting to run out and you need to be quick to grab one before the sale is over on Cyber Monday (aka December 1.)
In the U.S. all of Apple’s iPads have hit their all-time low, including the new M5 iPad Pro, which launched in October has already received its first-ever discount: a massive $100 off. We gave it a five star review as it is undoubtedly the best tablet on the market, but if you own an iPad Pro M4, or are looking at a deal on one, we suggest that it’s not a huge update from the older model so deals on the older model are worth considering.
There is also a a decent $100 off the iPad Air. The standard entry-level iPad A16 was an absolute steal at its Black Friday price of $279, but stock has now been wiped out in the sale.

U.K.
In the U.K. we’re seeing a £100 saving on the iPad Air, which is an excellent deal, but the deals on the other iPads in the U.K. aren’t as big as they are in the U.S. There’s now £50 off the iPad mini, which just about beats Apple’s £40 gift voucher deal.
The M5 iPad Pro only has a small saving, so right now we are looking at the older models to get a better discount. With that in mind, we’d recommend the M4 iPad Pro if you can find one (it’s £206 off at Amazon, but selling out fast).

How to get the best iPad deals for Black Friday 2025: Our Advice
Britta O’Boyle
If you’re not sure which model is right for you, read our in-depth iPad buying guide. Here’s a quick overview of Apple’s lineup:
iPad: Apple updated its cheapest iPad in 2025 with an A16 chip and twice the storage (128GB) of the previous model. At $349, it’s already a fantastic value, but the Black Friday $274 price puts it in impulse-buy territory.
iPad mini: The iPad mini was updated in October 2024 with an A17 Pro processor, 8GB of RAM, and twice the storage (128GB). It regularly drops to $399, which is what we’re seeing for Black Friday as well.
iPad Air: Apple updated the iPad Air with an M3 processor in 2024, but left it otherwise unchanged. It still comes in two sizes, 11 inches and 13 inches, and has the same gorgeous design. We saw price cuts as high as $150 off for Prime Day, and the Black Friday sales we’ve tracked so far match that.
iPad Pro: The iPad Pro was updated in October with an M5 processor, but nothing else has changed. So we recommend looking for significant savings on the M4 model (and we are spotlighting them above when they appear).

Does Apple discount iPads for Black Friday?
Every year, Apple holds a shopping event from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. However, Apple rarely discounts its products and the event consists of gift card offers rather than actual savings.
The Apple Black Friday shopping event for 2025 has been announced, and the iPad Air, iPad mini, and standard iPad are all included. It’s no real surprise that the M5 iPad Pro is excluded, as it was just released in October. You can get a gift card for $100/£80 with the Air and $50/£40 with the other iPads.

The annual Black Friday extravaganza is always a fantastic time to buy an Apple Watch, with big savings from a wide variety of retailers. It officially starts today and runs through Cyber Monday, December 1.
In this article, we will share all the best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025. We have tools that we can use to check the prices everywhere, so we always know who has the best price and can share them here. We also share our advice about how to get the best deal on an Apple Watch, what to look out for, and what to avoid.
If you want to know what other Apple products are discounted, check out our round up of the Best Black Friday 2025 Apple deals. Also check our Best Picks round ups where you can see reviews of all the products we rate as a good purchase. And if you aren’t sure which watch to buy, read our comparison of every Apple Watch.
How we pick the best Apple Watch deals
We’ve tested every Apple Watch model that Apple has ever sold, and wear them in our daily lives. We regularly check Apple Watch prices from all the retailers and have an extensive historical knowledge of historical prices and all-time lows. Therefore we know when we find a really good deal on a really good product, and we will share it here.
Right now our team is checking prices across Amazon and other major retailers several times a day and highlighting the verified low prices at the time of our latest update. We also evaluate deal prices against the current MSRP/RRP for each model and spot any discrepancies that might be missed when looking at the price of older models to help our readers avoid scams.
When it comes to deciding what actually constitutes a good deal, we would look for roughly $50 to $70 off the current models for U.S. buyers, while in the U.K., we rarely find more than £30 off.
Best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025
Want to get a bargain on a new Apple Watch? These are the best deals we’ve seen so far. Check out our advice below this section for tips on what to look out for.
U.S.
You can save $60 on the new Apple Watch Series 11 at Amazon, but there is also $150 off the older model, which isn’t all that different (the two new health features, hypertension alerts and Sleep Score, are also available on the Series 10), so definitely worth your attention.
We gave the Apple Watch SE 3 a near-perfect score of 4.5 stars and highly recommend it at full price—for $50 off, it’s a no-brainer decision. There’s only $20 off the Ultra 3, so it’s probably worth waiting a little longer on that one to see if prices drop again.
Amazon, Apple Watch Series 11 (42mm): $339 ($60 off, MSRP $399)
Amazon, Apple Watch Series 11 (46mm): $369 ($60 off, MSRP $429)
Amazon, Apple Watch SE 3 (40mm): $199 ($50 off, MSRP $249)

Apple, $50 gift card with Apple Watch SE 3 and Series 11
Walmart, Apple Watch Series 10 (46mm): $279 ($150 off, $429 MSRP)
Amazon, Apple Watch Ultra 2: $599 ($200 off, MSRP $799) CYBER MONDAY DEAL
U.K.
In the U.K. the deals are small on the newest Apple Watch models, but they have improved a little over the Black Friday weekend – we’ve just seen Amazon drop the price of the Watch SE 3 further, so it’s now £20 off. If prices don’t drop further, our advice would be to snap up Apple’s Black Friday offer, which will get you a £40 gift card.
Amazon, Apple Watch Ultra 3: £719 (£30 off, RRP £749)
Amazon, Apple Watch SE 3 (40mm): £199 (£20 off, RRP £219)
Amazon, Apple Watch SE 3 (44mm): £229 (£20 off, RRP £249)

How to get the best Apple Watch deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Like always, Apple sells three watches, but for the first time in years, all three models were updated this year.
Apple Watch Series 11: The standard Apple Watch Series 11 starts at the same price as previous watches ($399/£369) and is largely the same as the Series 10. The main upgrade is better battery life (24 hours vs 18 hours), 5G connectivity (on cellular models), and better scratch resistance. We’re spotlighting a deal on the Series 10 for $120 off and recommend grabbing it instead of paying more for the Series 11.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: The Apple Watch Ultra 3 ($799/£749) has a slightly larger screen, 5G connectivity, Emergency SOS via satellite, and significantly longer battery life (42 hours vs 36 hours). With prices already dropping by $100, we recommend picking up the newer model if you’re looking for a large, rugged watch.
Apple Watch SE 3: Apple updated the Apple Watch SE for the first time in years and gave it several overdue features, including an always-on display, skin temperature sensor, gestures, 5G (on cellular models), a faster chip, and fast charging. With the same $249/£219 starting price, an older SE 2 would need to be around $100 to be worth it. Early Black Friday sales are already pushing the price of the SE 3 under $200 and we think it’s a fantastic option for just about anyone.

Black Friday Apple Watch deals: What to avoid
Spot bad deals: It’s important to be aware that Black Friday brings bad deals as well as good ones. Retailers don’t want to give you a great deal; they want you to buy their unwanted stock at a high price and will use all sorts of tricks to persuade you to do so. Don’t let them get away with it.
Check the real pricing: Always check the current MSRP/RRP for the watch you’re planning to buy (we include these with all of our recommended deals). In the U.K. Apple dropped prices on the new set of Watches when they were introduced, but retailers will conveniently forget to mention this and quote the old price instead. That makes their discount look bigger and the deal more appealing. Some retailers also raise their own prices ahead of Black Friday, then drop them back down and claim a large saving. Price tracker sites like CamelCamelCamel can help you to work out if this has happened. We will also flag it if we see it.
Read about the product: It’s worth checking reviews and buying guides (such as ours, linked above) to assess the age and worth of the device. Make sure you’re not being fobbed off with antiquated stock. Also, watch out for deals on the cellular models; these can look like big savings, but in our experience, there is little point in owning a cellular Apple Watch. You might as well pay less and get the standard model.
Does Apple discount Apple Watches for Black Friday?
Apple doesn’t drop prices for Black Friday. Rather, it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. For Apple’s Black Friday deal in 2025, it is giving away $50/£40 gift cards with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 11 purchases made on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site. The Series 10 wasn’t included in 2024’s sale, so the fact that the Apple Watch 11 is included this year is a nice surprise.
In many cases, especially in the U.K. where the price drops aren’t as big, the Apple Black Friday deal is a better option.

Black Friday, the yearly shopping event where everyone hunts for the biggest deals, has arrived yesterday, but at least some of the AirPods deals are continuing throughout Black Friday weekend. The deals will only last until Cyber Monday on December 1, so if you want a pair of AirPods, it is an excellent time to buy.
We’ve seen some great deals already, including $79 off the AirPods 4 with ANC. AirPods Pro 3 are $30 off, which is their first significant discount, and Walmart had a great deal on the AirPods Pro 2 for $138, but that now seems to have ended. In the U.K., we’ve seen the AirPods Pro 2 down to £169 at Argos and Amazon, but they frequently go out of stock.
You can also find the best deals on alternatives to the AirPods, including Beats headphones, which are made by Apple and have many of the same AirPods innovations. You should also check out our roundup of the Best Black Friday Apple deals for this year. How we pick AirPods deals
At Macworld, we’ve tested every model of AirPods that Apple sells and have used them extensively in our daily lives. We have an extensive historical knowledge of historical prices and all-time lows, and only spotlight the best deals we find. Our team checks prices across Amazon and other major retailers several times a day and only highlights the verified low prices at the time of our latest update.
Since there are just four models of AirPods, we’ll list the best price we can find for each, but we will let you know when a particular model hits an all-time low.
Best Black Friday 2025 AirPods & AirPods Pro deals
Black Friday 2025 is an incredible time to pick up a new pair of AirPods. AirPods 4 (with and without ANC) and AirPods Pro 3 have been all at all-time low prices, and significantly lower than we’ve previously seen. The Black Friday deal of $69 for AirPods 4 is simply mind-blowing. Unfortunately the great deal on the older AirPods Pro 2, which were $139 at Walmart seems to have run out, but AirPods Max have dropped under $400, so now is the time to grab a pair.
AirPods deals below..
Apple’s Black Friday AirPods deal is a gift card worth $75/£60 with AirPods Max, $25/£20 gift voucher with AirPods Pro, and $25/£20 with AirPods 4. The deals we are seeing mostly beat Apple’s deal, which we’ve tracked over the past few years (see the values offered from 2022-2025 below), but the vouchers may be a better option if you are U.K. based as the discounts are smaller.

How to get the best AirPods deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
We’re seeing some incredible sales on all four AirPods models this year, with all-time low prices on the AirPods 4 and AirPods Max. Here’s what to look out for:
AirPods 4: Apple’s cheapest AirPods weren’t updated in 2025, and we’ve seen prices falling all year. Over Prime Day, they dropped to $89 and early Black Friday sales have already dipped even lower. We don’t know if they’ll get as low as $75, but it’s possible.
AirPods 4 with ANC: Apple sells a version of the AirPods 4 with noise cancellation for an extra $50, but we’ve seen them as low as $119. With AirPods 4 ANC getting a larger price drop heading into Black Friday, we could see the ANC model inch closer to $110.
AirPods Pro 3: Apple just released the newest AirPods Pro 3 in September alongside the iPhone 17, so we’re not expecting the kind of deep discounts we saw last year with AirPods Pro 2. However, we might see the remaining stock of AirPods Pro 2 drop as low as $150.
AirPods Max: Apple’s over-the-ear AirPods Max haven’t been updated in a meaningful way since 2020. They still have an H1 chip, don’t support Apple’s latest AirPods Pro features, and have a very high price tag compared to similar wireless headphones. If you want a pair, we’d recommend waiting until they drop under $400.
Does Apple discount AirPods for Black Friday? Gift card values 2022–2025
Apple doesn’t cut prices for Black Friday, but it does hold a 4-day Shopping Event where it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. Apple’s Black Friday 2025 offer is similar to previous years, with $25 for AirPods 4, $50 for AirPods Pro, and $75 for AirPods Max purchased on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site.

Best iMac & Mac mini deals for Black Friday 2025
U.S. deals
The iMac and Mac mini received an M4 update in October 2024, with the Mac mini also getting a dramatic redesign that shrunk the case down to just 5 inches. We loved the new Mac mini design and M4 chip and there is $120 off at Amazon, which we’d say is a great saving, especially if you don’t need a screen.
The M4 Pro chip version is a great low-cost way to get a really powerful Mac mini and there’s $200 off, so we recommend jumping at any savings here. We don’t know if they will be getting M5 chips, but if they are, they won’t arrive until 2026, so we recommend picking up one of these deals if you’re looking for a Mac desktop.

These high-end Macs don’t have any meaningful Black Friday deals (so far). If we spot any, we’ll cover them in our guide to the best Black Friday Apple deals.
Black Friday 2025: Top shopping tips
We tend to find that the biggest savings are on older models, but be aware that these aren’t always the best value for money.
Check the generation of the model that is discounted to make sure you know exactly what you are buying and what it’s really worth.
We’ve seen resellers switch to selling refurbished or used when the stock of brand-new models run out, so check that the model discounted isn’t actually a used Mac and therefore not as good a deal as it might look.
That’s not to say you should avoid refurb models; you just need to make sure that you aren’t buying something used when you want a new model.
Mac deals aren’t limited to Black Friday. We see good deals all year round, so don’t feel pressured into buying during Black Friday.
How to get the best MacBook deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Foundry
Apple updated nearly all of its MacBook models in 2025, and we expect to see all-time-low pricing on many models and configurations.
M4 MacBook Air: released this past March with a $100 price cut. The base model is $999 and can be found for $750/£849 during Black Friday week.
M4 Pro/Max MacBook Pro: released in 2024 and are still excellent machines. Worth the investment when it’s $300/£250 or more off.
M5 MacBook Pro: released in October, but we are already seeing discounts of $250 and £200.
For more information about the differences and which MacBook might be best for you, read How the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro compare.
How to get the best Mac deals for Black Friday 2025: Our advice
Simon Jary / Foundry
Apple hasn’t updated any of its consumer-level desktop Macs in 2025, so prices on the M4 models are as low as they’ve ever been:
M4/M4 Pro Mac mini: Apple updated the Mac mini late last year with an M4 chip and a new design. The M4 Mac mini is a fantastic device with an extremely small footprint, so don’t hesitate to grab one at a discount, we’ve seen $200/£130 off.
M4 iMac: The iMac has a 24-inch 4.5K display and a speedy M4 processor starting at $1,299. Look for sales below $1,150/£1,170 before you decide to buy one.
Does Apple discount Macs for Black Friday?
Apple doesn’t drop prices for Black Friday. Rather, it gives away gift cards when you buy certain items. For Apple’s Black Friday shopping event in 2025 it is giving away gift cards with MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac and M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pro purchases made on Apple’s U.S. site or Apple’s U.K. site. Since they are so new, the M5 MacBook Pro models aren’t included in Apple’s deal.
The 2025 deal is pretty good. You can get a gift card for up to $250 on a new Mac, which is better than 2024’s maximum offer.
202520242023202215-inch MacBook Air$200$200$200n/a13-inch MacBook Air$175$175$175$15013-inch MacBook Air (M2)–$150$150$150Mac mini$100–$100$10014-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro$250––$250iMac$150––$150
Buying from Apple means you are guaranteed to be buying the latest Mac, whereas other resellers may be clearing old stock. You then have a gift card to buy something else from Apple, including Apple TV, Apple Music, and Apple One subscriptions.

EU To Examine If Apple Ads and Maps Subject To Tough Rules, Apple Says No EU antitrust regulators will examine whether Apple's Apple Ads and Apple Maps should be subject to the onerous requirements of the bloc's digital rules after both services hit key criteria, with the U.S. tech giant saying they should be exempted. From a report: Apple's App Store, iOS operating system and Safari web browser were designated core platform services under the Digital Markets Act two years ago aimed at reining in the power of Big Tech and opening up the field to rivals so consumers can have more choice. The European Commission said that Apple has notified it that Apple Ads and Apple Maps met the Act's two thresholds to be considered "gatekeepers." The DMA designates companies with services with more than 45 million monthly active users and $79 billion in market capitalisation as gatekeepers subject to a list of dos and don'ts.

Someone Is Trying To 'Hack' People Through Apple Podcasts Apple's Podcasts app on both iOS and Mac has been exhibiting strange behavior for months, spontaneously launching and presenting users with obscure religion, spirituality and education podcasts they never subscribed to -- and at least one of these podcasts contains a link attempting a cross-site scripting attack, 404 Media reports. Joseph Cox, a journalist at the outlet, documented the issue after repeatedly finding his Mac had launched the Podcasts app on its own, presenting bizarre podcasts with titles containing garbled code, external URLs to Spotify and Google Play, and in one case, what appears to be XSS attack code embedded directly in the podcast title itself.
Patrick Wardle, a macOS security expert and creator of Objective-See, confirmed he could replicate similar behavior: simply visiting a website can trigger the Podcasts app to open and load an attacker-chosen podcast without any user prompt or approval. Wardle said this creates "a very effective delivery mechanism" if a vulnerability exists in the Podcasts app, and the level of probing suggests adversaries are actively evaluating it as a potential target. The XSS-attempting podcast dates from around 2019. A recent review in the app asked "How does Apple allow this attempted XSS attack?"
Asked for comment five times by 404 Media, Apple did not respond.

Use ChatGPT as Your iPhone's Action Button Assistant Apple doesn't currently allow iPhone users to change the Side button's Siri functionality to another assistant, but owners of iPhone 15 Pro and newer models can assign ChatGPT to the Action button instead. Keep reading to learn how.
OpenAI's free ChatGPT app for iPhone lets you interact with the chatbot using text or voice. What's more, if you assign voice mode directly to the Action button, you can use it to jump straight into a spoken conversation, giving you quick, handsfree access to a far more capable assistant.
Install the ChatGPT app, then sign into your account or create a new one.
Next, open the Settings app.
Tap Action Button.
Swipe to Controls, then tap the two chevrons beside the currently assigned control.
Using the control search field, type "ChatGPT."
Select the control Open ChatGPT Voice.
A long press of the Action button will now open ChatGPT's voice mode. The first time you activate it, the app may request microphone access. Tap Allow to proceed. After that, you can begin speaking immediately.
A recent update means voice conversations now take place inside the same chat window as text-based prompts, instead of switching to a separate voice-only interface. Responses appear in real time, combining spoken output with on-screen text and any visuals the model generates. This keeps your conversation's context intact and makes switching between typing and speaking smoother.
Continue the Conversation Anywhere
You can also leave the ChatGPT app during a voice session without ending it. When you swipe away, the conversation continues and appears in the Dynamic Island as long as the assistant is listening and preparing a response. To stop, tap the Dynamic Island to return to the app, then tap End.
Note that while this setup gives you a fast, physical shortcut to a richer, more context-aware assistant, ChatGPT can't perform Siri-like system actions like accessing your calendar or setting an alarm.Tag: ChatGPTThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

The MacRumors Show: Apple's Big Plans for iPad Mini 8 On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through the latest rumors about Apple's upcoming iPad mini 8.
Subscribe to The MacRumors Show YouTube channel for more videos
The next-generation version of the iPad mini is expected to feature an OLED display, as part of Apple's plan to expand the display technology across many more of its devices. Apple's first OLED device was the Apple Watch in 2015, followed by the iPhone in 2017 and the iPad Pro in 2024. It now apparently plans to bring the technology to more devices, such as the iPad Air, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro, and could start with the iPad mini next year.
The current iPad mini has a Liquid Retina LCD display, just like the iPad Air. OLED offers higher contrast with true blacks, wider viewing angles, faster response times, better efficiency, and generally better perceived picture quality than LCD.
The current iPad mini came out in 2024, with the main upgrade over the previous version being the A17 Pro chip and Apple Intelligence support. The previous generation introduced a complete redesign and the A15 Bionic chip.
In August, Apple mistakenly shared code that revealed key information about the next-generation iPad mini with the codename J510/J511: The device features the A19 Pro chip, which is used in the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The current iPad mini uses a version of the A17 Pro chip from the iPhone 15 Pro with a five-core GPU. The A19 Pro used in the iPhone Air also has a five-core GPU, as opposed to the full six-core version in the iPhone 17 Pro models, so it seems likely that this binned version of the chip will be the one used in the next iPad mini.
Bloomberg claims that Apple is working on a version of the iPad mini that has a more water resistant design, making it the first iPad with a water resistance rating.
While the iPhone has IP68 water resistance that allows it to withstand submersion in water up to six meters deep for 30 minutes, it is not yet known what IP rating the iPad mini might feature. The iPad mini's updated casing is expected to offer water resistance similar to the iPhone, making it safe for casual use in wet environments like a bath or a pool area.
Apple has reportedly developed a new speaker system for the iPad mini that uses vibration-based technology, allowing for the speaker holes in the device to be removed. Removing the speaker holes would cut down on areas where water could get into the crevices of the iPad mini.
For the iPhone, Apple uses adhesive and gaskets to protect the speaker holes and other ingress points from water intrusion, so the iPad mini's design would be radically different. The current iPad mini does not have an official water resistance rating and it is not safe to get it wet.
With an OLED display, water resistance, a new speaker system, and a faster chip, the device is expected to be more expensive, and Apple could charge up to $100 more for the device. The iPad mini is currently priced starting at $499. Apple will purportedly launch the iPad mini 8 with OLED display in the third quarter of next year at the earliest.
We also discuss further thoughts on the M5 Vision Pro, weighing up its utility for travel and day-to-day use-case, and take a look at the growing differentiation and optionality within Apple's product lineups. Save $60 on this 4K LG UltraFine monitor for your Mac in this Black Friday sale Macworld
Apple’s 27-inch Studio Display is an excellent monitor, but it doesn’t have an excellent price. But this 27-inch LG UltraFine at Amazon does. Normally $280, it’s down to $220 for Black Friday, the absolute best price this model’s ever been.
You won’t get a camera or spatial audio, but this LG UltraFine will deliver crisp and clear 3480x2160p resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. Alongside that 5ms response time, this monitor is better suited for handling your daily workload and watching YouTube than it is for gaming, but if you’re hooking it up to a Mac, you probably don’t mind. You can adjust this monitor exactly how you want it, tilting and pivoting it, and adjusting its height at just the right spot so your neck and back stop complaining as much. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that it looks absolutely gorgeous and will fit right in with all your sleek Apple gear.
Just note it connects via HDMI, so if you have a MacBook Air, you’ll need an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter to connect it to your Mac’s DisplayPort. Otherwise, the LG UltraFine 4K IPS display is the monitor your office needs, especially now that it’s more affordable than ever at its Black Friday $220 price point.

Does apple still warn developers for making there app/IAP free for limited time? iPhone 17 Lineup Drives Smartphone Growth in China Apple's iPhone 17 lineup was the clear driver of smartphone growth during China's "Singles Day" shopping festival, according to new industry data.
Apple was the top-selling smartphone brand throughout this year's month-long Singles Day period in China, accounting for 26% of all smartphone sales, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research shared by Reuters. Overall smartphone sales rose just 3% year-over-year, and Counterpoint says the iPhone alone prevented the market from seeing what would otherwise have been a 5% annual decline.
Counterpoint's data indicates that demand for iPhone 17 models was particularly strong throughout the festival, which ended on November 11. The rebound continues a trend seen over recent months, during which Apple has steadily outpaced the wider Chinese smartphone market after years of cooling demand.
Data provider Syntun told Reuters that total Singles Day sales across all major e-commerce platforms reached 1.70 trillion yuan ($240 billion), up from 1.44 trillion yuan last year, which had a shorter promotional window. In its most recent earnings call, Apple said it anticipated what could be its strongest December quarter on record.
Huawei recorded the steepest decline among major brands, with its share dropping to 13% from 17% a year ago. Its new flagship Mate 80 launched too late to participate meaningfully in the festival. Xiaomi held the second-largest share with 17%, though its sales also declined year-over-year due to the earlier release timing of the Xiaomi 17 series.Tags: China, CounterpointThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Apple and Intel Rumored to Partner on Mac Chips Again in a New Way While all Macs are now powered by Apple's custom-designed chips, a new rumor claims that Apple may rekindle its partnership with Intel, albeit in a new and limited way.
Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today said Intel is expected to begin shipping Apple's lowest-end M-series chip as early as mid-2027.
If this rumor proves to be accurate, Intel could supply Apple with M6 or M7 chips for future MacBook Air, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models at a minimum. However, while previous Intel chips for Macs were designed by Intel and based on x86 architecture, M-series chips are designed by Apple and use Arm architecture. Intel would only assist with manufacturing.
TSMC would continue to supply the majority of Apple's M-series chips.
Kuo said that Apple choosing to have Intel supply its lowest-end M-series chip would appease the Trump administration's desire for "Made in USA" products, and it would also help Apple to diversify its supply chain for manufacturing.
Apple began transitioning away from Intel processors in Macs in 2020, and its own M-series chips continue to provide industry-leading performance per watt.Tags: Apple Silicon, Intel, Ming-Chi KuoThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Ever wonder what malware macOS can detect and remove without help from third-party software? Apple continuously adds new malware detection rules to Mac’s built-in XProtect suite. While most rule names (signatures) are obfuscated, with a bit of reversing engineering, security researchers can map them to their common industry names.
In this updated Thanksgiving edition of Security Bite, I revisit a story I started working on in May of 2024. Because Apple is continuously adding new modules to its XProtect suite to combat the latest malware trends, I suspect this column will continue to update over time. Here’s what malware your Mac can detect and remove on its own:

Apple Pay Supporting the Fight Against AIDS This Week — Here's How Apple has announced that it will again donate $5 to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for every purchase made using Apple Pay on Apple.com, through the Apple Store app, or at an Apple Store in the U.S. and many other countries from today through December 7. Apple's donation this year will be capped at $3 million.
The Global Fund is a public-private partnership that aims to combat diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria throughout the developing world. Apple says that its annual donation will "help fund critical health programs that save lives."
Apple runs this donation campaign ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1 each year.
Apple has supported The Global Fund for 19 years through its partnership with the (RED) brand, co-founded by U2 singer Bono. However, Apple no longer offers any devices in the charitable (PRODUCT)RED color, so the partnership feels less prominent now. The only product still available in (PRODUCT)RED is a single iPhone 14 case.

How to get Adobe’s Black Friday price if you’re an existing customer
Adobe’s Black Friday deal isn’t available for existing customers, though in the past we have found that beginning the subscription cancellation process can sometimes prompt Adobe to offer a discount or additional months for free to entice users to stay.
If you already have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription that is due to increase in price in the next few months—say you got the deal last year—or is already priced higher than the latest deal, it may be worth contacting Adobe’s customer service to cancel so you can jump on the new, cheaper Black Friday deal.
Sometimes they will just move you over to the new price without you having to cancel.
The process is simple. Sign into your Adobe CC account and click on “Manage Account”. Here you’ll see your current plan price. Most plans last 12 months, so if that deal is coming up or you are already on a price higher than the Black Friday deal, ask Adobe to switch you over straight away.
The simplest way is to use the Chat service. A Chat speech bubble icon should be in the lower right-hand corner of the webpage. If not, Adobe suggest you cange your browser. After signing in again, scroll down to the bottom to “Start chat”. Explain what you want to do (cancel your current plan and move to the new price) and the Adobe representative will guide you through the process.
Even easier, if you’ve had the account for a few years, is just to ask if you can change to the new Black Friday price. When they say it’s for new customers only, say that you don’t want to go through the whole cancellation process just to get the new price, so could the agent assist you in doing it without cancelling your account.
We’d suggest giving that a shot and seeing how far you get—good luck!

EU to Target Apple Maps and Apple Ads Next The EU has begun looking into whether Apple Maps and Apple Ads should be designated as "gatekeepers" and subject to greater regulation (via Reuters).
The App Store, iOS, and Safari were classified as gatekeepers two years ago, triggering strict requirements in the EU such as support for alternative app marketplaces and third-party payment options. Under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), any platform with more than 45 million monthly active EU users and a market valuation above €75 billion is presumed to be a gatekeeper, subject to obligations designed to curb self-preferencing and increase interoperability.
The European Commission has now confirmed that Apple Maps and Apple Ads satisfy the user-base thresholds that mandate a review. Regulators now have 45 working days to decide whether either service should formally join Apple's existing list of designated platforms. If confirmed, Apple would then have six months to bring each service into full DMA compliance.
Apple has apparently already submitted formal rebuttals arguing that the criteria should not apply. The company argues that Apple Ads represents only a "minimal share" of the EU online advertising market, especially compared to dominant players such as Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft, and X. Apple also insists that its advertising business neither relies on cross-service data privileges nor exerts the level of market influence implied by the DMA thresholds.
The company is making similar arguments regarding Apple Maps, claiming that the service has "very limited usage" in the EU relative to Google Maps and Waze. Apple says Maps does not provide the kind of "critical intermediation functionality" that would allow it to act as a dominant gateway between businesses and consumers.
A gatekeeper designation for Apple Ads could have significant consequences. Compliance may require Apple to loosen restrictions introduced under App Tracking Transparency, provide interoperability for third-party ad networks, or eliminate any perceived self-preferencing advantages.
For Maps, it is unclear what specific operational changes the DMA might require, but obligations could include expanded third-party access or reducing any privileged integrations within the system. iOS 18.4 already enabled the ability to change the default maps app from Apple Maps to alternatives like Google Maps or Waze in the EU.Tags: Apple Antitrust, Apple Ads, Apple Maps, Europe, European Commission, European UnionThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums
