Bruce Albertson, chief executive and president of Iomega Corp. resigned Monday, amid “differences” between his and the board of directors’ goals for the computer hardware maker.

New PowerPC chip from Motorola announced

Motorola debuted a new PowerPC chip at the Smart Networks Developers Forum in New Orleans yesterday. The PowerPC 7440 is a lower-power version of the company’s 7450 chip used in Macs, and is designed specifically for smaller networking devices. The PowerPC 7740 is expected to ship later this year in 600MHz and 700MHz flavors.
