Iomega is expecting to start shipping its new line of disk drives on Thursday, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new drives — dubbed “Peerless” — have cartridges that store 10 GB or 20 GB of data and offer transfer rates of up to 15 MB/sec.

Purple Shark Software has announced the release of Setting Sun 1.6.1, a modular saver application featuring many 3D plug-ins. The latest version — version 1.6.1 — includes forty different fader plug-ins, including the Windows “Pipes” fader, and the floating icon and slide show modules from Mac OS X. In addition, this latest release includes several bug fixes noted in previous versions.

Brother International Corporation has announced the release of their new HL-2460 and the network-ready HL-2460N office laser printers — slated for delivery May 29. The printers offer 25ppm (page-per-minute) print speed, a wide array of expansion options and productivity enhancements.
