More on the Mac ‘Simpsons’ worm virus

As was reported last week, a new virus has appeared that affects Mac users. MacInTouch and TheStandard.com are covering the new worm virus called Mac/Simpsons@mm. The worm is contained in an email entitled “Secret Simpsons Episodes!” and encourages the reader to double-click on the attached file to see hundreds of never-before-seen Simpsons episodes. Opening this file results in a mass-email going out to everyone in the readers address book.

Publisher’s Note: MacMinute and pop-up advertising

I just wanted to take a moment to update you on an issue that has cropped up recently. A few MacMinute readers have notified us that pop-up window advertising appears when they access our home page. I have noticed recently that a few Mac sites have started to deliver you a pop-up window ad as you leave their site, which may give the impression that it is an ad we are delivering if you came directly here from one of those Web sites.
