Logitech today introduced MouseMan Dual Optical, a new USB mouse that features two optical sensors for higher accuracy and precision on a broader range of surfaces. Each sensor provides a resolution of 800 dpi–twice that of previous sensors–and is positioned at a 45-degree angle from the opposite sensor. According to Logitech, the mouse monitors both locations from different angles to extract the best possible reading of mouse movements.

Seybold is headed back to New York City this February, after three years of hosting the February seminar in Boston. Seybold will be held at the Javits Convention Center February 19-22. Four years ago, IDG moved the summer Macworld Expo from Boston to New York City as well.

With the opening date for its Germantown, Tennessee, store still up in the air, Apple has listed a Palo Alto, California, store location as “Coming Soon” on its retail page. MacCentral is reporting that the store will open on October 6.

SmartDisk today announced new versions of its VST FireWire Desktop Drives that feature higher capacities and lower prices. The Desktop Drives are now available in 40GB (US$299.95), 60GB ($349.95), 80GB ($449.95), and 100GB ($499.95) configurations.
