Motorola earnings continue slump
Motorola today posted a third-quarter loss of US$153 million, as revenue for the quarter tumbled from $9.49 billion in the previous year to $7.41 billion. This marks the third consecutive quarter that Motorola has posted a loss. The company, which develops and manufactures some of the PowerPC chips used in Apple’s systems, blamed weak wireless network equipment and semiconductor markets for the disappointing results.
