Source code for “iBoot,” one of the most critical iOS programs, was anonymously posted on GitHub, which could pave the way for hackers and security researchers to find vulnerabilities in iOS and make iPhone jailbreaks easier to achieve, according to Motherboard (https://tinyurl.com/ya4h2hfm).

iBoot is the program that loads iOS, the very first process that runs when you turn on your iPhone or iPad. It loads and verifies the kernel is properly signed by Apple and then executes it.

Maintain has served up Cocktail 11.3 (High Sierra Edition), a new edition of Cocktail for users running macOS High Sierra.

It’s a general purpose utility for macOS that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. The new version adds ability to thin or delete local Time Machine snapshots and offers some bug fixes and performance improvements.

Cocktail costs $19 for a single user license and available for purchase from the Maintain website (http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/). When unregistered, Cocktail runs in demo mode and will expire after the tenth launch.

Open Screen has released Archisketch 2.9 (http://www.archisketch.eu), the latest version of its scale-aware sketching app for the iPad.

With its freehand sketching features and solid line drawing tools, Archisketch provides an early-stage design and development solution with, according to the folks at Open Screen, none of the complications of the CAD and BIM software traditionally used in the design industry.
