Apple and Dolby are bringing Dolby Atmos to live Formula 1 Coverage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The tech giant is partnering with Dolby Laboratories to bring its Dolby Atmos sound to F1, beginning with the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, later this month.

“The sound is what makes it emotional; it is the sound that guides you through that and builds the tension,” John Couling, senior VP of entertainment for Dolby Laboratories, told The Hollywood Reporter. “That is what Dolby Atmos will deliver.”

Apple TV holds a five-year agreement (starting in 2026) to broadcast all F1 sessions in the U.S.Coverage covers every practice, qualifying, Sprint session, and Grand Prix live or on-demand.

F1 TV Premium is included with an Apple TV subscription at no extra charge. Also, select races and all practice sessions are available to watch for free directly within the Apple TV app.
