Apple has apparently tripled the number of iCloud Mail aliases users can create, increasing the limit from three to nine.

The increase was first noticed last week by a Reddit user, and picked up shortly after by a member of the MacRumors forums. MacRumors can confirm the change is live at iCloud.com.

MacRumors says the increased limit hasn’t been mentioned by Apple, “so it could conceivably be a test.” But so far Apple’s iCloud User Guide still says the maximum number of aliases allowed is three.

From the Guide: After you set up a primary iCloud Mail address, you can create up to three @icloud.com email aliases on iCloud.com. After you set up an alias, you can send and receive mail from that alias on iCloud.com and on any device that has Mail turned on in iCloud settings.
