Apple has updated Final Cut Pro X, its pro/prosumer video editing app, and Xcode, its integrated development environment (IDE) tool.

Final Cut Pro X 10.1.4 offers native MXF import, edit, and export via a Pro Video Formats 2.0 software update. It also adds an option to export AVC-Intra MXF files and support for import and editing with Panasonic AVC-LongG media.

Version 10.1.4 is a free update for registered users. For new users the cost is US$299. Final Cut Pro X is available at the Mac App Store.

Xcode 6.1.1 includes software development kits for Mac OS X Yosemite, Mavericks and iOS 8.1. It’s a free download at the Mac App Store.
