Feral Interactive says the historical strategy game Napoleon: Total War™ – Gold Edition will be released for the Mac on July 3. Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA for Windows, the game is the latest Mac installment of the Total War series to be launched by Feral Interactive and follows Empire: Total War – Gold Edition.

Here’s how the game is described: “Napoleon: Total War — Gold Edition is a sophisticated combination of real-time battle tactics and turn-based political strategy that immerses players in a meticulous re-creation of the Napoleonic wars that wracked Europe in the early 19th century. The Mac version of Napoleon: Total War – Gold Edition comprises the base game and all the game updates, improvements and downloadable content, including The Peninsula Campaign, which sees Napoleon battle for control of the Iberian Peninsula against the allied forces of Spain, the United Kingdom and Portugal.

“It also includes three unit packs, the Imperial Eagle Pack, the Coalition Battle Pack and the Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars Pack. the game will include several LAN and online multiplayer modes, the latter supported by Apple’s Game Center technology when the game is purchased from the Mac App Store.”

Napoleon: Total War – Gold Edition for the Mac will retail for US$29.99. It will also be available online for direct download from a variety of digital partner sites worldwide including the Feral Store (https://store.feralinteractive.com) and the Mac App Store. Minimum system requirements call for a 2.0GHz Intel Mac with at least 4GB RAM, 256MB or better graphics card, and Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. Mac OS X 10.8.3 is required for Game Center support (available to Mac App Store customers only). The game does not support the following graphics cards: ATI X1xxx series, ATI HD2xxx series, Intel GMA series, NVIDIA 7xxx series and NVIDIA 8xxx series. The following graphics cards require 8GB of system RAM: Intel HD3000, NVIDIA 9400, Intel HD4000 and NVIDIA 320M. These system requirements are provisional and subject to change before release.
