Chromatic Labs has released Tabular for OS X. It’s a new tabular editor that lets you compose and practice music for the guitar and more.

Tabular lets you read and write music for guitar, bass, drums and more. It provides a way for musicians to learn new songs, write their own songs, or run through practice exercises for nearly any kind of stringed instrument or drum kit.

You can compose or transcribe music using tablature notation for stringed or percussion instruments. Tabular offers: full rendering of the musical staff; multi-track documents; MIDI playback with 53 different instrument sounds; configurable practice tools that can adjust playback speed automatically; and a built-in document library. You can import from Guitar Pro 5 or MIDI formats, and export to PDF, MIDI or plain text (ASCII) formats.

Tabular will go on sale March 26 at 20% off its regular price of US$24.99 (in other words, $19.99). The sale will last for one week. For more info go to http://chromaticlabs.com/tabular/ .
