As noted by “TechCrunch” (http://tinyurl.com/botllys), Apple’s iOS is consolidating its grip on the enterprise market and taking share from Android, according to customer data Egnyte, an enterprise file sharing and hybrid cloud storage company that offers cloud back-up and storage services.

In 2012, iOS marketshare rose to 69% (the iPhone and 42%; the iPad, 27%) compared to 30% for Android phones and tablets. Early 2013 data from Egnyte shows that for this year so far, the iOS has 78% marketshare (48% for the iPhone and 30% for the iPad) compared to 22% for Android phones and tablets.

“Apple seems to have at least temporarily won the hearts and minds of business users with its products accounting for about 70 percent of our traffic,” Egnyte told “TechCrunch.”
