J.K. Shin, the head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile unit, told reporters (http://macte.ch/IZR2r) that Samsung has no plans plans to follow Taiwanese firm HTC in seeking a settlement over its patent disputes with Apple.

HTC, which had been embroiled in a global patent battle with the Cupertino company, announced Sunday that the two companies had reached a deal to end all outstanding litigation and sign a 10-year licensing agreement over patents.

“We have no such intention,” Shin told reporters on Wednesday when asked if Samsung would seek a similar settlement.

This is all part of the ongoing, global legal battle. Apple and Samsung have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. For example, Apple alleges that Samsung copied the slide-to-unlock technology of its iPhone and iPad devices.
