Samsung Electronics said Monday it will sue Apple (again) when it releases its next gen iPhone (expected to be announced Wednesday). The company will due Apple for infringing on its fourth-generation (4G) long-term evolution (LTE) connectivity patents, reports the “Korea Times” (, quoting unnamed “ranking officials.”

“It’s true that Samsung Electronics has decided to take immediate legal action against the Cupertino-based Apple. Countries in Europe and even the United States — Apple’s home-turf — are our primary targets,’’ a senior Samsung exec “who is directly involved with the matter,” said in a telephone interview with “The Korea Times.”

This is all part of the ongoing, global legal battle. Apple and Samsung have filed more than 30 lawsuits against each other across four continents. For example, Apple alleges that Samsung copied the slide-to-unlock technology of its iPhone and iPad devices.
