I.R.I.S., which specializes in optical character recognition (OCR) software, is has released the IRIScan Anywhere 3, a cordless, battery‐powered and portable scanner that enables mobile users to capture paper documents, receipts, photos and more without the use of a computer.
The IRIScan Anywhere 3 is intuitive to use, says said Jean-Marc Fontaine, director of Sales and Operations, Americas at I.R.I.S. The sheet of paper is simply zipped through the scanner, and the scanned file is then saved on the built‐in memory, an SD Card or a standard USB key.
Compatible with both Macs and PCs, the IRIScan Anywhere 3 comes bundled with
° Readiris Pro 14, an OCR application that processes scans and turns them into fully editable and searchable documents that can be imported into PDF, Word, Excel and more;
° Cardiris PR 4 Mac, which manages business card contacts or imports them to: Outlook, ACT!, Lotus Notes, Address Book, etc.
