IK Multimedia (http://www.ikmultimedia.com) has announced the iKlip Studio (pictured) for the iPad and the iRig Pre.

The US$29.99 iKlip Studio is an adjustable iPad desktop stand designed specifically for musicians. It’s designed to hold the Apple tablet firmly on studio desks or other surfaces when using a variety of music and other apps.

Apps like synthesizers, beat-pads and other controllers can be played energetically on the multi-touch screen with no risk of the device moving or sliding, according to the folks at IK Multimedia. Its flexible orientation allows it to tilt its position from a very low-profile angle — for use with apps like mixers, controllers or synthesizers — to near-vertical positioning for use as a reader for scores or tablatures or to place the iPad behind music keyboard controllers.

iKlip Studio is made of lightweight, shock-resistant thermoplastic. Rubber foot-pads grip the desktop and prevent unwanted sliding.

The $39.99 iRig Pre is a solution for solution for connecting any type of microphone to any iPhone, iPhone touch or iPad. The microphone plugs directly into the standard XLR connector of iRig PRE with no need for extra cables or adapters.

The iRig Pre’s adjustable thumbwheel gain control allows the user to make precise level settings. The onboard 9V battery provides the necessary voltage for phantom-powered studio condenser microphones for at least 15 hours of continuous use.
The 3.5mm (1/8-inch) standard stereo headphone output allows monitoring while recording.

The lightweight housing sports a cable for an iOS device connection and also includes a Velcro strip slot for mounting on a mic stand or other stage locations.
Like all other IK Multimedia microphones, it includes two free apps: iRig Recorder (an easy-to-use recording/editing app) and VocaLive (an effects processing app for singers).
