Apimac has updated Protect Files for Mac OS X to version 2.1. It’s a maintenance update.

Protect Files is designed to help you protect your files, folders and documents with secure encryption and password technology. It offers step-by-step instructions in creating and managing encrypted spaces.

Apimac Protect Files facilitates data protection with secure encryption combined with file, folder and document passwords. An encrypted space is a password-protected space that can reside on your Mac’s hard drive, an external disk or USB stick.

The space is displayed as a normal volume on the desktop. When the space is locked, its contents areprotected. When the space is unlocked, you can move, copy and delete files like on any other memory drive.

Apimac Protect Files requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later and costs $9.99. It’s available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category. A demo version is also available at Apimac online (http://www.apimac.com/).
