Intuit ( has announced QuickBooks for Mac 2012, which offers compatibility with Mac OS X 10.7 (“Lion”). The new version also offers more than 50 new features and enhancements, according to Dan Wernikoff, senior vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Financial Management Solutions division.

He adds that key features of QuickBooks for Mac 2012 include:

° Improved Search: You can use keywords to find items such as customer or vendor contacts, transactions, amounts and dates. You can apply filters to refine search results or save searches for future reference.

° Customer and Vendor History Panels: You can get an at-a-glance view of customer details, such as open balances and notes, right next to open invoices. Small businesses can now complete transactions and answer customer questions quickly and easily.

° Transaction List: You can browse and sort forms by date, customer name or other criteria while entering invoices, expenses and sales receipts.

° Simplified Multi-step Tasks: Saving small businesses steps on common, repetitive tasks saves more than time.

QuickBooks for Mac 2012 is scheduled to be available for purchase directly from Intuit at beginning Sept. 26. It’s expected to be available at Apple retail stores,, Amazon, Best Buy,, Fry’s, MacZones, Office Depot, OfficeMax and Staples on Oct 9.

Pricing is US$229.95 for a single-user license, $439.95 for a two-user license; and $599.95 for a three-user license. Additional seats can be purchased for $209.95 each.
