Eternal Storms Software, has released Yoink for Mac OS X 10.7 (“Lion”). This application provides a small window to simplify dragging files between spaces, fullscreen apps or just between Finder windows.

Dragging and dropping files in Lion, especially between different spaces and more so between or to fullscreen applications, can be very cumbersome, so Yoink was created to help, according to the folks at Eternal Storms. The application fades in a small window every time the user starts dragging a file so they can drop it there.

Then they can switch to the space, fullscreen app or even the Finder window with the mouse and then re-start the drag from Yoink’s window. Yoink’s window, by default, sticks to the left edge of the display, but can also be sent to the right side.

Yoink is exclusively available on the Mac App Store for US$2.99 and requires Lion. A free 15-day trial is available at the product website (http://www.eternalstorms.at/yoink).
