Apple has updated its “Purchase Policies” web page (http://macte.ch/Ui8ZC) to reflect the end of re-stocking fees on opened Apple products, reports “ifoAppleStore” (http://www.infoapplestore.com).

As previously reported, the change was sparked by the addition of Personal Set-Up services to each purchase of a Mac or iPod, which includes the unboxing of the product. Previously, product returns were accepted within 14 days without a re-stocking fee, but only if the product box was un-opened. Now, since the Specialist or customer opens the product within the store, a re-stocking fee on opened products is no longer appropriate, says “ifoAppleStore.”
