Otterbox (http://www.otterbox.com) has released its Defender and Commuter series of iPad cases. The former (US$89.99) combines a two-piece polycarbonate shell lined with soft felt, silicone outer skin and a self-adhering screen protector for protection.

An additional polycarbonate cover snaps over the face to protect the Multi-Touch display or can function as a built-in stand while browsing the web or watching a video. Silicone grip pads on the bottom of the case prevent the iPad from sliding when sitting on a flat surface. The case also accommodates the optional dock accessory.

Griffin Technology unveils CinemaSeat, stylus, new cases for iPad

ARES Commander Edition is new 2D/3D CAD solution

Graebert GmbH (http://www.graebert.com) has released ARES Commander Edition 1.0, a new solution for 2D and 3D CAD that runs on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux systems. It offers full native cross-platform support on all three operating systems.

Also, mobile support is planned for support for Windows Mobile and, possibly, the iPad and Android. It’s available at an introductory price of US$495 through the end of September, a 50% discount from the regular price of $995.
