Eminem’s publisher wants settlement against Apple enforced

Eminem’s music publisher has asked a U.S. District Court judge in Detroit to enforce a settlement reached in a lawsuit against Apple totaling more than US$2.2 million, reports the “Detroit News” (http://detnews.com/article/20101009/ENT04/10090354/1424/ENT04?). The request by Ferndale-based Eight Mile Style LLC, filed under seal Tuesday, asked the court to enforce a settlement stemming from a lawsuit over downloads of the hip-hop star’s music on iTunes.

Walmart reportedly to start carrying iPads this week

Target and Amazon are now carrying the iPad, and Walmart looks to be next, reports “Fortune” (http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2010/10/09/target-and-amazon-have-the-ipad-is-walmart-next/?source=yahoo_quote). Rumors say the giant retail chain will begin carrying the Apple tablets this week and could have them in 1,000 stores before the end of October.

Scratch that, Microsoft isn’t buying Adobe

Despite rumors (started by “The New York Times” on Thursday) to the contrary, Microsoft isn’t buying Adobe. Nor are the two companies merging to take on Apple.

CMU offers course on using the iPad

A pilot course has been created at Central Michigan University to teach students how to maximize the use of the iPad, according to the “Morning Sun” (http://themorningsun.com/articles/2010/10/08/news/doc4cae8206f0e24287939759.txt).



Professor Patricia Janes of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services asked Mike Reuter, director of technology operations, to teach her parks and recreation students to be “dangerous” with the higher-level technology that is desired and expected by today’s employers.
