The Planon Group (http://www.planonsoftware.com), a global provider of Integrated Workplace Management Solution (IWMS) software, has launched software release designed to optimize workplace use and employee performance while reducing costs.

The 2011 version of Planon’s software offers a range of new functionality, including dvanced AutoCAD integration. It’s also enabled for the Mac.

Bare Bones Software (http://www.barebones.com) has released BBEdit 9.6, an update to its strength HTML and text editor. The upgrade adds HTML5 support.

A refined Translate command simplifies the process of converting documents between HTML and plain text, according to Rich Siegel, founder and CEO of Bare Bones Software. BBEdit 9.6 also includes support for directory-specific settings and a new command-line option for creating projects.

Workers in southern China, who say they were assembling Apple laptops and iPhones, have become seriously ill after using a dangerous chemical, reports “ABC News” (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/10/26/3048024.htm).

The Number Five People’s Hospital in Suzhou has been treating workers who breathed in vapors from the chemical n-hexane, the article adds. According to the workers, the chemical was being used in the production of Apple products and has left them unable to walk.
