Apple increases employees, decreases amount of moolah spent on ads

According to Apple’s latest 10-K, which it filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, it has increased its number of employees, expects its gross margins to fall, and is spending less (percentage-wise) on ads.

Apple has 46,600 full-time employees as of Sept. 25, up from 34,300 a year-ago and 32,000 in 2008. Most of that increase came in the retail segment, where Apple now has 26,500 employees, 10,000 more than in 2009.

VUDU comes to Boxee and the Mac

VUDU’s on-demand movie service (http://www.vudu.com) will soon be available to Boxee (http://boxee.tv) users on Mac, Windows, and the Boxee Box by D-Link.

Boxee is VUDU’s very first Mac and Windows delivery platform, allowing users both new and old to access VUDU’s huge library of content from any computer. In turn, VUDU will be Boxee’s first premium pay-per-view movie service with access to new release movies as soon as they come out on DVD along with a huge catalogue of TV shows and films.
