Woz to keynote at ACU’s 2011 Connected Summit

The 2011 Connected Summit offers a forum for educators, administrators, government policymakers and technologists to explore the opportunities and challenges facing education today, especially in mobile learning and the emerging role of digital books. McAfee Labs: Apple, geolocation, mobile devices to top emerging threats target list

McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com) has unveiled its “2011 Threat Predictions” report, outlining the top threats that researchers at McAfee Labs foresee for the coming year. The list comprises 2010’s most buzzed about platforms and services, including the iPhone, Mac OS X, Google’s Android, foursquare, and Google TV.

Per the report, all are expected to become major targets for cybercriminals. McAfee Labs also predicts that politically motivated attacks will be on the rise, as more groups are expected to repeat the WikiLeaks paradigm.

Sears, Kmart team with Sonic to launch movie download service

Sonic Solutions (http://www.sonic.com) says that RoxioNow platform licensee, Sears, has officially launched its online movie download service, Alphaline Entertainment (http://alphaline.roxionow.com).

The new service enables Sears and Kmart customers to download entertainment online, including new movies on the same day they are released on DVD and Blu-ray disc. Sonic is working with Sears on a multi-phase rollout that includes making the service available from a broad range of connected devices and ensuring compatibility with studio-supported digital programs.
