NCH Software releases Mac version of MixPad


NCH Software (http://www.nchsoftware.com/), a provider of audio, video, business and telephony/VoIP tools and utilities worldwide, says its MixPad sound mixing software for audio and music production is now also available for the Mac. 



The multi-track mixing software has features for low latency multi-track recording and mixing and is targeted to creating music mixes, radio advertisements, soundtracks, or remixes. Users can load audio files, record clips directly, or drag and drop files from their desktop to the clip manager then onto the timeline.

Analyst: Apple stores in China could help drive company’s share price to $435 within a year

Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty tells clients in a research note that China represents Apple’s next major geographic growth opportunity, and that Apple’s plan to open 25 retail stores in China, announced during its shareholders meeting in February, could help drive Apple’s share price  — in her “bull case” scenario — as high as US$435 within a year.

FireWire association issues FireWire reference tutorial

The 1394 Trade Association — of which Apple is a member — has developed a new reference tutorial to assist engineers in evaluating the IEEE 1394 (FireWire) standard, understanding how it works, and maximizing FireWire performance in their application.

The tutorial provides a technical background for engineers unfamiliar with FireWire, enabling them to build a complete understanding of how the standard operates, and to evaluate FireWire’s benefits for their application. The 77-page document includes diagrams, descriptions and illustrations.
