In case you haven’t heard yet, Apple released a new product a few months back that interested a few people. They called it the iPad.

And, just as with any Apple device (in particular, the mobile devices), an avalanche of accessories immediately made their way to market. Many of them the same as every other variation of the same accessory.

But in each instance, you tend to find one example that excels in quality.

“The KB Stand (http://www.kbcovers.com) is the ideal solution for using your iPad at your desk, counter, table or on a plane. Watch your movies at the proper viewing angle, or reposition the KB Stand for perfect ergonomic use when typing on your iPad.

With the press of a button, the KB Stand can be set at a variety of viewing angles and is easily collapsible for superior portability.”

This US$29.95 stand — available in black or white — is solid, well thought out, and simple enough that Ives would be proud.

The Juice

KB Covers, primarily known for their application keyboard skins, has created a simple iPad stand of extremely high quality. Features include the required multiple angle settings for enhanced viewing and using your iPad. It’s portable and fits easily in your backpack or purse. Its single piece design makes for ease-of-use, not to mention the single button angle adjustment and it’s extendable legs. Which, naturally, supports vertical and horizontal viewing.

The KB Stand is available in Black and White and includes a carrying pouch.

The Pulp

This a solidly constructed stand. No cheap plastic knock off here! As mentioned in it’s promotional material, it’s perfect for viewing any media. But the two uses that I have in mind for it are as a laptop support for my iPad (in fact, I’m composing this review on my iPad, but in a cafe, while holding with my hands) and for supporting it in portrait mode, so I can use my iPad as an auxiliary monitor for my MacBook Pro. I can put my palettes on screen while editing video. And when. Not doing that, I can keep tabs on my social networks.

The Rind

Nada.

Summary

What KB Covers is to keyboard skins, they are apparently to stands. The engineering of this product is a testament to their dedication to quality.

If you plan on utilizing your iPad to it’s fullest, this stand is worth every single penny. It’s really that impressive.

You bought. The best tablet on the market. Why scrimp on the accessories?
